Ginza of Tokyo was one of the first restaurants I dined at when I moved to Madison nearly 30 years ago. While the building and furnishings are showing their age, this location still puts out a good quality teppanyaki meal for a reasonable price. Complete dinners start at under $20 for steak, scallops or chicken prepared by one of their... More

You would not believe how annoyed the manager became with me because I told him that I was allergic to seafood an I needed him to have the sushi chefs change gloves to make my vegetable roll! I am appalled and while my husband and I like the restaurant I will never spend my money at this location again!

Been to both sites in Madison over the years and have always had fun sitting at the Hibachi table. I know the new "big thing" in many restaurants is the Community Table to generate conversation amongst guests. Well Ginza and their hibachi tables have been doing this for years and it is a blast. Chefs are well trained, funny and... More

We were a party of 7, adults and2 children under 6. The food was plentiful and very good and the flaming onion volcano and the artistry of the chef with juggling spatula and fork were very entertaining. The over all experience was wonderful, but our waitress could use a little extra training. She forgot to take one of our party's... More

It was my granddaughter's 7th birthday and that called for a special event. Well, dinner at the Ginza on Odana was the choice. I was not impressed as we entered and found to get to the restaurant, you have to go through the bar, and there were some "regulars" enjoying the saki. Our party was three adults, the birthday girl... More

My and my better half were there celebrating a birthday because its the only place where they can get sushi and I can still find something to eat. I'm not a huge fan of Asian food, but I love going here. We had a hibachi table. We had to wait quite a bit (they said 5-10, more like 20-25) for... More

We were a party of 7, celebrating a birthday. We were pleased to have our own hibatchi table. Yes, the place is on the small side in a strip mall. And yes, the decor is dark wood and hasn't changed since the place opened. But, it still serves great food and offers a dining experience not found elsewhere. Our chef... More

Eight friends and myself visited Ginza for our first time on Friday, Jan 25th. I had made a reservation for hibachi two weeks before hand cause I knew we were going to have a big party. I made sure that when I asked for a table that we would be able to fit comfortably with our big group. Once we... More

Good show of the Japanese steak house cooking. Food has always been tasty and in a generous quantity. However I think the prices are a bit high for the quality. ~$20/person. For first timers or those with kids- Great Fun and something different to add to evening out. (which makes the $20 well worth it) Return trips start to feel... More

After visiting Ginza's on the east side of Madison last year, we were excited to go there again, only to discover that the lease was up and it was closed. A notice on the door gave the address of the west side (Odana Rd.) location. Figuring it was worth the drive, we made reservations and headed out with watering mouths... More
