This place is located not far from the capitol. The place has an old school steakhouse feeling. Kind of dark. But, the food is fantastic. Ordered the sirloin steak. It was so good. One of the best I have ever eaten frankly. The steak was juicy, spiced right and cooked properly. The potatoes were good, asparagus, green beens, bread, salad,... More

Had a business meeting here and loved the old supper club look. Thought it might just be an old place with mediocre food, but I was wrong. Had the Filet Au Pouvre (sp). It was cooked to perfection, had great flavor and was more than enough to eat. Very large steak but great quality. Also had the hash browns as... More

We liked the old look of the place, good background music and had a very pleasant server. Loved the bread on the table and relish tray. We were pleased to see soup or salad and veggie or potato included with meal. We were only offered French Onion soup this particular day and was not pleased to see an additional charge... More

Look and feel of an old time supper club. Water glass stuffed with veggies to start off. Bread sticks to follow. Steaks were very good, cooked just right. Then I went to the bathroom... worse than my high school bathroom 30 year ago. Ruined the experience.

I have no idea why this restaurant is considered a fine steakhouse. Not only are the steaks not memorable, the entire atmosphere in the dining room is old and dull. The seating booths are very uncomfortable, and a party of four is terribly crowded. There are a great many steak restaurants in the greater Madison area that are heads and... More

Old school ambiance, great food and cocktails, good service, a nice treat. Was a good place to go for romantic Valentine's Day dinner.

One of the best dinners in Madison. Steak and seafood are delicious. Great place for drinks with friends too.

three out of Four dinners were excellent, but the person who ordered the perch thought it was sort of mealy in the mouth. The sirloin was awesome, as was the walleye. Fresh bead is a very elegant touch, and the vertical salad bar on the table was very clever. Pork tenderloin slightly overdone. Note to Bob the sommelier: teach your... More

The Steaks were cooked well and had great service. I was there a busy Saturday night and still got timely service. The steak was cooked to perfection and I got a side of fries. The dining room is dated, but has been kept up and has a cool old school feel to it.

Good Steaks and generous cocktails. Some people will like the retro 60s decor. Not cheap. Plenty to choose from if you don't want beef.
