My wife was born in the "Asakusa (浅草?) district in Taitō, Tokyo, Japan, famous for the Sensō-ji, a Buddhist temple dedicated to the bodhisattva Kannon." For such an "Old Tokyo" woman, only the best would do on her birthday, so I decided to take her to Wasabi - it passed the test with flying colors! Every dish that we ordered... More

After a long day on airplanes, I needed a sashimi fix and wandered around Madison until I found this restaurant. Not a big fan of vinegar rice, so I order a selection of sashimi. I got a good selection, very fresh this night, and excellent service at the sushi bar. Completely compensated for the hassles of traveling.

It's shocking that a town as small as Jackson, TN has a sushi place (Sakura) that's better than this one in a city as large as Madison. But it's true. The appetizers (shrimp tempura, edamame) were adequate. But the sushi was not spectacular - either in terms if flavor or presentation.

Most defiantly have had better sushi. Pretty fishy tasting and smelling. Probably a little to old. Service was good, sake was good. Sake comes cold or hot lots of selections. I loved the sauces.

The sushi is average. It is not as bad as Ginza or Takara, but not the best either.

The sushi is good for Madison. Don't expect coast-like seafood, but then again, we don't live on the coast!

I tried Wasabi after a disasterous visit to Takara down the street. Wasabi is the green horseradish that comes with most sushi/rolls for those that are curious. They have the most authentic Japanese dishes since my visits to Osaka and Kyoto. I got the chicken Sukiyaki. It was amazingly delicious, made me miss of Japan. The price is a bit... More

If you think you can't get good sushi "inland", you're wrong! I've been a weekly regular at Wasabi for 6+ years and have not found a better sushi restaurant within 90 miles. They are always consistent with their quality as well as the quantity. Although it may be one of the most expensive in the Madison-area, they are the most... More
