Best restaurant in Madison. Also the highest priced, but you wont care after you have been there to check out what Tory Miller has put together and why he won a James Beard award.

This is Madison's best restaurant, in my estimation. I love the selections (entrees) and the wine and beer offerings are perfect pairings. I especially appreciate the professional service and the warm ambiance of the room. It is, simply, a five-star experience. If you have to entertain for one special meal in Madison, there is no peer.

Two menus: three courses for $65 or seven for $125. The three course menu offers choices, the seven course menu doesn't, but, to be fair, our waiter told us that if we wanted to replace any course in the seven course menu with one of the options in the three course menu, we could. When the women in our party... More

They offered only two meals, both prix fixe - 3 courses at $65 and 7 courses at $125. We opted for the 3 course and one of us selected only one course (which was a dollar or two less than the $65, thus suggesting a bad decision). The staff was well trained and efficient. The interior is most attractive. In... More

Quality of food is excellent, but don't go there hungry...you will be disappointed. For the price no one should leave hungry. My husband and I went there often many years ago when it was under different ownership. It was our favorite restaurant in the Madison area. Since the new owner began the portion sizes are very small. The glass of... More

The service and the tasting menu were A+! Fresh local ingredients- great wine! The heirloom tomato appetizer was wonderful, as was the cod entree. The wine selection was vast.

We ate the tasting menu and were treated to seven gourmet courses. The beef tenderloin was exceptional. Service was terrific as well. Did not expect to find such a high end restaurant across the street from the State Capitol.

We had been to L'Etoile many many years ago and I will start out by saying it is far better than it was back then. I do appreciate the former chefs passion for locally sourced selections, and I do hope that never ends, but we sometimes felt that the menu suffered as a result of limited availability and we stopped... My husband and I came here for an anniversary trip. We had been to this restaurant 5 years ago when it was in a different space and had a different chef. Both dinners were absolutely excellent. The new space is gorgeous with beautiful views of the Capital illuminated. From our craft cocktails at the bar to our 7 course tasting... More

We had selected this restaurant for our upcoming visit to Madison because it offered upscale vegetarian options. We were a bit concerned that the young adult members of our party might find the food too "upscale", we had a few picky eaters in the group. We were seated promptly at a lovely spacious table and the service throughout our meal... More
