This place has great microbrews. I tried a few and liked them all. The food was good, nothing fancy. As Wisconsin must is the Fried Cheese Curds, they are wonderful. I had the fried fish (another Wisconsin favorite) and was not disappointed. Everything was very reasonably priced. more

What's not to love? Awesome microbrews (brewed on site), delicious food, and a fun atmosphere. Best Sunday brunch in Madison (only at Hilldale and Fitchburg locations)! On a nice day, eat outside in the beautiful beer garden. more

I live in Madison and am at the Great Dane a lot. The nachos are the best I've ever had for a non-Mexican restaurant. Hummus platter is also good, as is the calamari. My wife and I love this place! The selection is excellent and varied. No matter what you order for dinner, make sure you add two appetizers. The fried cheese curds are a must for any self respecting Wiconsinite and most importantly the Hot Soft Pretzels with spicy mustard OUTSTANDING!!! more

An amazing collection of gravity fed cask ale and hand pumped real ale. I had the New Peculiar and IPA, all true to style and weel kept. A lunch steak sandwich was great. This is a great brew pub. more

Wants to be a traditional Madison/Wisconsin food place, but its just not that good. Their beers are average and food is below average. The atmosphere is pretty good though on a weekend. more
