I've heard this place is an old favorite that once served delicious food consistently. If so, it's gone very far downhill. It was definitely busy, which we took as a positive sign, but none of our party of four enjoyed the meal. The steak was awful. Not properly cooked, it also tasted old. The hash browns were not bad, but... More

Smoky's survives on age-old reviews and memories past. The ambiance is still great, but it's a better bar now than a restaurant. Maybe I lived in NYC too long (before moving back here to my hometown), because the steaks in Madison are mediocre at best. Worst of all, here at Smoky's Club the "OK" food is way, way over-priced. Finally,... More

If you are in Madison, make sure that you check out Smoky's Club. This iconic restaurant offers great steaks. Also enjoy your favorite drink as some of the best bar keeps in Madison are there to make your drinks. The service is great, the food even better.

We went to Smoky's on a Monday night while heading back to Illinois from visiting Spring Green, WI. We came late, and although it was not busy, our service was excellent and we knew that this place had been around since 1953, so we weren't expecting pristine new decor. In fact, we wanted the authentic "time warp" experience, and we... More

I remember my parents saying this restaurant was the place to go back in the day. All I can say is what a dump! Windowless world of overpriced poor food. It looks like they have made no improvements since the place opened, it just looks depressing. There are certainly much better steak houses in Madison (Delaney's or Prime Quarter)

As supper clubs go, there is better food and atmosphere. But this is the place to go for martinis. Martini Bob is an icon and the drinks are amazing! Stop by for cocktails and then go downtown.

Smoky's Club was a favorite restaurant of ours for years. We stopped going there as it slowly seemed to decline. We decided to give it another try. It saddens me to say that this place is just "old" in looks and outlook. With little work it could be returned to the festive place it was in the past. Instead, you're... More

We heard that Smoky's was the place to go in Madison, but they really haven't kept up with food trends and the way people eat today. If you're looking for a traditional steak and baked potato place, you may like it. We started with a choice of tomato soup or tomato juice. The iceberg lettuce salad came with one cucumber... More

We are avid "supper clubbers" and attempt to visit as many as possible when we can find them. We took our daughter who is attending the UW Madison and were extremely disappointed. We all had filet mignon and they arrived at the table with a greyish appearance and maybe 5oz. They had absolutely NO flavor nor any texture that would... More

My brother recently picked up a book about Wisconsin Supper Clubs that highlighted Smokey's so off to Smokey's we went. We'd heard they had terrific steaks, and we were not disappointed. Two New York Strip steaks and one filet all were cooked to perfection. The filet was accompanied by butterflied shrimp that were proclaimed a HUGE hit as were the... More
