Arrived with two coworkers around 6:30 on a weeknight and we were seated right away (just in time before the main dinner rush). It's a small space, so if you don't get there early you may be waiting for a while. It's tapas style, so we shared four plates and were satisfied but not stuffed. The poutine with foie gras... More

We chose a few small plates and were not impressed. I told our waiter our selections were not that good. He blamed us for not making good choices from the menu. I expected better service and food for the price point. I have done my best to steer folks away from this overpriced and overhyped place.

If I had to pick one restaurant to eat every time we visit Madison, it would A Pig in a Fur Coat. Food is fantastic; very rich and satisfying. Menu changes seasonally. Our favorites: duck fat fries, ravioli, pork belly and foie gras mousse. Atmosphere is fun. Chef Daniel is on his game.

We are retired, love to go out for dinner and we like to try new places; so we look for bargains wherever we can. I bought a coupon through the Madison Originals website for Pig in a Fur Coat after reading about it in a local paper. We were so happy that we finally went there for dinner. We loved... More

Found this cozy place while in town from NC on business. Had three of the small plates with a different wine pairing each course. Lamb carpaccio was outstanding, the surprise salsa verde was a perfect accent. Veal neck with Portuguese Douro was a discovery and far more meaty than anticipated. Octopus/mussel/clam "dessert" was a nice cleanser perfectly paired with an... More

We dined here this week after checking out Trip Advisor as well as on a recommendation from a Madison resident. We were not disappointed. We had the tasting menu with wine pairings and everything was fabulous!! One of our best meals ever! We took down the name of 2 of the 4 wines served and ordered them as soon as... More

Ate here with a friend when training for the Wisconsin Ironman and definitely will return when I come back for the race! We had the poutine with foie gras which was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The server really knew what he was talking about and recommended some delicious wines to go with our food. We also had the meatballs, ravioli, and scallops.... More

So I've now been to A Pig in a Fur Coat a few times and really want to like it, but each time I walk away saying, "That was fine." And fine in a town of AMAZINGNESS just doesn't cut it, especially when it takes a lot of my pennies. The ambiance is fine as long as you're cool with... More

A delight of small plates and fabulous beer selection on the east side of Madison. It was fun sharing plates with two others, and being seated on a long table that allowed us both privacy and the chance to talk with the guests next to us. Service was friendly and prompt and they took extra pains to let us know... More

A great atmosphere, relaxed dining and excellent food. Re previous review about no healthy food - there is some but presumably one reviews the menu before deciding where to eat. Excellent as far as I am concerned. A good choice of small plates and larger ones for sharing. Not to be missed!
