Sitting here and sweating after the crawfish étouffée

Wow! This is a little gem of a take out shop right next to the Hotel Red across from Camp Randall stadium (there is some indoor seating on a table along the wall.) I just had the hottest crawfish étouffée I ever had- no hot sauce needed and not for the faint of heart. I got a half order along... read more

BEST cajun food in Madison! Have gone here for years and never been disappointed yet! Great jambalaya and red beans and rice! Never had a bad meal yet!

Authentic New Orleans cuisine. Red Beans and Rice, the best. Jambalaya has a little of heat, very good. Parking at Monroe Street location can be challenging, but hunting for a parking spot is worth it. Limited inside seating.

We came across this restaurant by browsing for take outs in the Madison area. Having been to New Orleans and liking the Creole food, we decided to try it and we have not been disappointed! We tried the fried oyster po'boys and they were awesome! Everything is made from scratch, food is not heavy and -for some extra money (less... More

We ordered fried oysters & fried shrimp dinners with red beans and rice for sides. We also had creole sauce on the side to try with the rice. It was all delicious! I'm originally from the coast and real, fresh oysters have been sorely missed in my Midwestern life. This is definitely a spot-hitter! The portions are relatively small, so... More

Ordered Mardi Gras combo, which included jambalaya, red beans n rice, and shrimp creole. Also a side of potato salad. Entrée was great, fed two easily... should have saved it for three servings because we were stuffed. Potato salad needed pepper but was nice and thick. Didn't take too long for carry out - maybe 15 minutes. A beer would... More

Have eaten here several times over the years. My favorite "go to" restaurant in the Madison area. The fried catfish is superb. Rice & beans & sausage is excellent. I'm always sad when my meal ends. I hope this place stays in business for many years to come. The only nit I have with their food is that the corn... More

This restaurant reminds me of the "Big Easy". You know, New Orleans. The name says it for itself. They have to locations in Madison .If you are near the UWM campus. There's one directly across from Camp Randall Stadium. It doesn't get no better than this. I love this food! Like the slogan says. "Eat Mo' Bettah". You must absolutely... More

Some times you read advise about finding restaurants in new town: you know, go where the locals go.....find a mom and pop place.....look for a little obscure hole in the wall. Well, I found the hole in the wall and I loved it. No plates....use travel containers; no silverware.....use plastic utensils; want water, how about a pitcher of it; want... More

Nothing fancy, but great food. Two locations feature takeout, but you can dine in as well. No wait service. My favorite Madison restaurant!
