Getaway Wine Bar/Cafe

Very relaxing ambiance if looking for a place to unwind from white noise. The wine selection is what you'd expect in a small place. I found several good value french (under $25) and shared it with friends. We sat by the window in the early evening facing W. Washington Ave and enjoyed unhurried... read more

Tried the Mexican Mocha. Definitely a walk on the wilder side. Cayenne in a coffee drink in the AM is interesting. the food we had tasted fresh and was filling.

This place is adorable and yummy! We stayed at Hyatt Place up the street and this was the closet place to get a great cup of coffee!! The scones and egg sandwiches were delish too!!! We visited in June and enjoyed the outside seating area to relax and read the paper with our latte's. Great neighborhood coffee spot!

The decor is charming, the coffee is good, there's a limited menu, but the food was tasty. They sell all sorts of interesting mugs and bags, things I haven't seen elsewhere.

Good wine, and a reasonable $5 corkage fee. Sit outside and have a bottle of wine. On the other hand, I was waiting fifteen minutes for a sandwich (with no one else in line) standing near two homeless folks, one of whom had soiled his pants. And the coffee was cold. Such a mixed bag, maybe it's what you come... More

There twice during recent wedding visit to Madison. Loved their single origin coffees (Ethiopian yirgacheffe etc). Cute wine shop with 100+ selections almost all $10-20 btl. I am a wine snob but thought they did a great job at a price point everyone can enjoy. Scones (cranberry) well done. If you are near the Capitol or visiting farmers market, worth... More

Stopped in to kill some time before the crazy legs race and had a chocolate chip scone. It was amazing. Cute place with good atmosphere. Staff was very friendly. Would like to come back and try a coffee sometime.

Barriques is a classic coffee shop and wine specialty shop. I went in the morning and had a terrific breakfast sandwich with fresh egg, cheddar and added bacon. It was very inexpensive at $2.65 plus a $1.25 for the bacon. Made fresh and fast. They had other breakfast wraps and a good selection of pastries too. The mocha drink was... More

Even though it is part of a strip mall this is a wonderful place for coffee, a bite and conversation. Easy atmosphere with tables and couches and a fire place. Staff was helpful and friendly. Went back twice in 2 days while visiting Madison. Visited December 2014

I have been to all of the Barrique's locations, except the one on Park Street. I really love going to these cafes! They specialize in coffee and wine--you can taste either while there, or purchase coffee beans, wine/liquor to take home for later. Depending on the location, you can order from a small menu of sandwiches or appetizers, and some... More
