Sip a nice wine, have a nosh, purchase from a fine array of goods. Very relaxing atmosphere--numerous locations.
The sign outside says it is a wine bar, but it is a very good coffee shop. I had a delicious iced latte and a delightful scone. I recommend it.
My colleague and I tried Barriques at the recommendation of my son. This turned out to be a great stop. The coffee was very good but the atmosphere was even better. I was quite impressed with the décor and layout of the place. The interior was two levels with a balcony overlooking a nostalgic first floor. The appearance was almost... More
The coffee is good, the food is OK. But whatever you do, don't go when you are in a hurry! I have been to the Old Sauk location on multiple occasions when it has taken 5+ minutes to get a plain coffee (with less than 3 people in front of me). Very frustrating. Seems to be a lot of staff... More
My husband and I went to Barriques to do some work while visiting family. I was disappointed that they were out of yogurt but the wrap I ordered was delicious as was my mocha! However, I was a little annoyed that there were not more outlets to plug in our computers. Overall, I would come back.
Though my food was good, my companions was forgotten. After I brought it to the staffs attention they seemed to take their time to whip together the four ingredient salad. We stop here every time we pass through Madison. We choose to avoid the busy roads at rush hour by parking it downtown and enjoying coffee and food before we head back out. We travel between Wisconsin and Iowa often. On the way down it's Friday evening and we always stop here. They have a wine tasting if you want... More
I dream about coming back to Madison for the coffee at Bariques! Try their menu items too :) Wine at night, nice local feel, not big chain and fabulous coffee
I have no problem with the coffee. Usually very good. But, what is wrong with their staff. I go to either the Middleton shop or the Old Sauk Rd. shop and the staff at both places are unfriendly and taciturn. I know they don't make much but managment can still do things to make the staff customer friendly. I just... More
Barriques is one of the few coffee shops that I go out of the way to spend a morning, afternoon or evening connecting with friends, getting a quick bite, or spending hours working. It has been one of my top hangouts for nearly 8 years. The atmosphere is Barriques best asset. The two-story open loft concept allows for easy people-watching,... More
