This one has the first ever Dairy School which now does sophisticated research and teaching in food science, etc. It's ice cream and dairy store is often visited by visitors to the school and to Madison. I made my first trip... More

The sandwich of the day was a chicken, pepper jack wrap, and the ice cream was superb!! Cute little tables, casual atmosphere. Tour the ice cream making process going on upstairs, if you have time.

Wow. The university makes its own ice cream. Makes me want to be a badger. The ice cream was exceptionally fresh and creamy. Yum.

With the exception of the two or three most expensive "premium" flavors, Babcock Hall uses gelatin in all their ice creams. So know when you go that you're eating crushed up animal bones - usually with high fructose corn syrup - instead of the standard ice cream ingredients (cream, sugar, etc).

It's a cute place to stop. The ice cream is good and it doesn't melt fast, which is nice since my son is a slow ice cream eater. The employees were fast and friendly. We went upstairs to see the production area. No one was working in there at the time but it's still neat to see all the equipment... More

The ice cream was very good and economical. Customer service lacked a friendly smile or flavor suggestion. The campus is wonderful. The ice team store is about a mile from the union but walking along the lake makes it seem much shorter.

We were recommended this icecream as a Madison experience and our only regret is that we only got to go once. The icecream has an amazing creaminess, texture and flavour that puts it up there as one of the best icecreams I've ever had - go and try it, you won't be disappointed.

We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon and they were not in production. I walked up to the observation area and peeked around, but it would have been much more interesting to have seen the process. The ice cream was good.

Fresh ice cream? Yes please! Several flavors to choose from and more. Not a lot of seating but the weather was great so I sat outside on the steps.
