Just one word needed ~ "YUM!" Best place for the best ice cream in Madison. My all-time favorite, if I can pick just one, is the orange chocolate chip.

We had sandwiches. Great cheese they make right there. Amazing ice cream. Made in that building on the University of Wisconsin campus by U.W. students. Great stop if you are visiting campus.

This could very well be my favorite ice cream. So fresh and a perfect balance of flavors!! Viewing window upstairs allows you to see where they make ice cream and other dairy products.

This is an authentic taste of the college world. Students serve ice cream and lunch-like items at this deli style joint. (not much for seating) Upstairs you can actually see the milk being processed from the on-site dairy.

I have no clue how the Babcock Dairy Store is ranked #1 of restaurants in Madison. It's not what I would call a "restaurant," more like a grab food and go deli. The ice cream is awesome. I recommend the Orange Custard Chocolate Chip. Great prices for an ice cream cone.
