Take a nice long walk from the square down State Street to Babcock Hall. This will help burn off some of the calories you are about to have as you treat yourself to this deliciously smooth ice cream. Don't let the long line of people scare you off - the line moves quickly and it is well worth the wait... More

Delicious, creamy, flavorful ice cream made at the University - my tummy is happy! As a dairyland girl, I am a bit of an ice cream snob and this establishment ranks high on my list. Nice selection of flavors with big reasonably priced portions. Plenty of cheeses to choose from and sandwiches too. Always an important stop to make when... More

You can take a self-guided tour here anytime it's open, allowing you to see where the ice cream, cheese and other dairy products are made. My kids enjoyed both the tour and the ice cream. They serve other food and drinks as well. It gets a bit crowded with students around lunch hour.

You have to try cranberry ice cream! This is the best ice cream in the city! The hours are a little limited but it's worth the trip.

Limited menu but great food. Breakfast choices are large and moderately priced. Coffee is robust. This is also a definite stop for ice cream. Do not pass this place up if you are in the area.

I really enjoyed this place. The staff was friendly and the ice cream was really tasty! They had pints of ice cream and other goodies that you could buy as well. Definitely worth the trip!

I am a major ice cream fan- the majority of my reviews here are of ice cream places. I went to Penn State and I always thought our University made the finest ice cream in the galaxy. I mean- we taught Ben and Jerry how to make the stuff. But...this Wisconsin stuff is good. Really really good. Huge portions, low... More

I love ice cream and frankly where ever I go, I try to seek out ice cream to try, but this place wins hands down. Babcock hall ice cream is the best I have ever had. You can also buy it at the Memorial Terrace and at Union South, both at the Daily Scoop. Unbelievably good!!

My husband went to the UW Madison eons ago, so we have been going to Babcock Hall for ice cream for many years. This is the real deal made with milk right from the University dairy farm. They are always coming up with new flavors, so very hard to decide what flavor to have today. You can get this at... More

My husband and I love ice cream so we've been to many ice cream shops and have had a lot of ice cream. This was the best ice cream I've ever had! I ordered the mocha macchiato which was the best ice cream I have ever had! We then bought a couple of pints to put in a pie crust... More
