Good food, slow service

Our party of four had to wait for nearly 30 minutes for a table, despite the presence of many unoccupied tables. Then it took another 30 minutes for our food to arrive. Unfortunately, several items were cold and had to be sent back to the kitchen which further delayed our meal. Not sure if I... read more

We had dinner here and it was very tasty. After dinner we went outside to the patio which is very nice and it has tables with fire pits in the middle which makes it very cozy and fun. They had a band playing too and that was a great way to end the evening.

This restaurant is interesting. Extensive drink menu, lots of sodas made there. The root beer is what they're known for. The menu is a little schizophrenic. It's clearly a German-named restaurant but the menu is sort of fusion/all over the place. There are pretzels and quesadillas as appetizers. The burgers were good. The cheese curds were up to Wisconsin standards.... More

We happened to have dinner here as it was close to our hotel and we were really happy with the service, the food, and the atmosphere. Delicious reuben sandwich and local beers.

I was in Madison one afternoon buying a new car and stopped here for lunch while I waited for it to be detailed. The lunch special was just enough and not too hard on the wallet either. I had the 1/2 pulled pork sandwich with onion rings as a side and it was so yummy and just enough food for... More

Liked the brat fries, cheese soup was thin with little flavor. Waitress was perspiring heavily- not too appetizing. No head on the root beer- is that normal?

The only way I'd recommend going to Sprecher's is if it's simply for beer and appetizers. The beer is excellent, their Abbey Trippel is one of my all-time favs. They also have pretty good apps and their patio is awesome in the summer. That said, the food is very hit and miss and average on a good day. There is... More

Went to Sprecher's based on a recommendation from a local, but had heard of Sprecher from back east with their hard root beer, which is delicious. Their hard ginger beer (on tap) is also really delicious! Wasn't too hungry so I had the soft pretzels (4 large sticks) with cheese and 2 mustard dippers- a spicy mustard and a root... More

My 12 year old son and I had a good dinner. His Schnitzel was good - it did need a pinch of salt. My wurst platter was tasty. The German Riesling was good but a little pricey at $7 a glass. Dessert was also good. Service was friendly and prompt.
