Loved this place while it lasted. Now they have closed so you will be disappointed if you try to go . Hopefully they will open again in Madison.

The food was mostly good and what you would expect. However, we thought that portions were relatively small and prices were a bit high by $3 to $5. Great selection of drinks, appetizers, and entrees. Lots of flavor and spice.

We visited on a Sunday for lunch. Our server was impatient, didn't know the specials very well, and wasn't able to answer simple questions about the menu. She did not bother to go find out the answers either. They advertised Sunday brunch outside on the sign and on their website, but there was no information about it inside the restaurant.... More

We visited on a week night arriving after 8:00 PM. We were greeted as we came through the door and given a choice of a small booth for two or a table. There were just a few other two-somes dining. I like the decor--white table clothes, long curtains tied in a knot over the tall windows, colorful and interesting art... More

Amazing food with sauces to die for. I highly recommend the Cilantro Bar and Grill to any foodie out there who enjoys a perfectly prepared meal. Lots to offer gluten free folks like me too. This is the place to bring your friends for a long dinner of wine, food and conversation.

I am a bit puzzled by the negative reviews for this restaurant because a friend and I ate here for the first time tonight, and everything about the experience was excellent. We did eat early, so maybe that makes the difference. At any rate, we had a reservation, and we were seated immediately. We were served attentively throughout the evening.... More

Visited Cilantro last night with my husband. We had the four tamale appetizer which was delicious. I had a glass of Sangria and hubby had the lime cilantro cocktail, both exceptional. The split hen with sauce was out of this world, the pork with cactus salad was unbelievable; tender with just the right spice. It was very busy, the service... More

We stopped by last night without a reservation. The restaurant was busy with lots of reservations but we were seated at a small table immediately. Our server was attentive if maybe not too familiar with the menu. We tried the crab cake appetizer, it was very good, the only problem was that we didn't have a spoon to scoop up... More

I'm a fan of Rick Bayless and what he has accomplished. I think Rick Bayless is to Mexican food what Julia Child was to French food. Naturally, I was excited to hear that some of his staff from Frontera opened a place in Madison. The first hurdle to get over is the location of the restaurant. It's in a strip... More
