We have tried to eat her many times only to walk out because the non moving line. We have gone there and actually been waited on once. The bagels are good, but it takes a long time to get a toasted bagel with some cream cheese ready. They don't tell you anything after you pay for your order that it... More

Gotham Bagels are leaps and bounds over all the standard bagel places around (Einstein, Panera, etc). They are chewy and tasty and there are great spreads and cream cheeses to go with it. Also good coffee. I no longer work downtown and don't get to come here as often, wish there was another location.

The only downside is that this place can get really busy. If you're swinging by for a quick take out, the line will move fast and you'll be through in no time. If you want to sit and eat in, you may have to wait for a table. Worth a visit either way. The bagels are great with a nice... More

If you like bagels large, crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside Gotham Bagel is the place to get them. As I live in Milwaukee, I can't have them as often as I would like. The Everything bagel is my favorite and I order a dozen ahead of time when I come to Madison for football games. Their... More

I have stopped here on the way to work a few times this month since moving here, and the guys who work there are always super friendly, greeting me (and others) when I walk in the door. Their coffee is good, bagels are tasty, and location is very convenient....havent had any real food here yet but I look forward to... More

It's almost impossible to get a great (or even really good) bagel outside of New York City. People may poo-poo the theory, but the water in NYC really does make a difference in the taste and consistency of the bagel. That said, technique is important too (hand rolling, boiling), and they know what they're doing at Gotham thanks to their... More

I'm pretty sure Gotham Bagels is the best bagel cafe in the area. Their signature bagel sandwiches are mouthwatering. I only wished they had more options. I love the Spanish Harlem with the pork shoulder. Absolutely delicious. Their bagels are always fresh and the meats they have available are great for building your own bagel. What's clutch at Gotham Bagels... More

They used to be good, uncertain what happened. I bought one that was inedible; done on the outside, & a raw dough in the middle. I dared email them about it & received a back-handed apology / lecture. May only be chump change to them, hope selling me a "raw deal" was worth losing a good customer over, I have... More

The bagels are delicious!!! The bagel, lox and cream cheese sandwich was good, but too much cream cheese. Should have asked for just a "schmear". bought a dozen to go!!

If you want great bagels look no further. This place is one of the best I've had. No squishy doughy bagels here, like what you get in NYC.
