Been there a couple times and while the food is good, it's not up to the praise it gets. Just because a place has a long line to get in does not mean it's special. Luckily there was no line when we went last. Cinnamon rolls everyone raves about do not deliver. Good breakfast, but doesn't live up to the... More

I often visited Mickies Dairy Bar when I studied at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. The restaurant is very close to the campus, and it served delicious breakfast at a reasonable price in a friendly atmosphere. The is one of the best eateries in town.

A throwback to when diners ruled. Love stopping for a huge breakfast when I'm in the area. The food quality is good and the atmosphere is also very good.

I have been here twice now. Once in around 1988 and again a few days ago. It's such a cool old place. There are old menus on the wall from years ago and it doesn't look like the place has changed much since the 50's. I've driven by on the weekends and seen a line out the door. I don't... More

Very old school type of place. Service great. Next door to Hotel Red. Loved. Famous milkshakes. Would go back.

I’m a Reuben snob. I order one in just about every restaurant that offers them. This def is the best anywhere. And they do serve them at breakfast. The rest of the food – well, I think the other reviews say it all.

Small (expect a line to get a table on weekends), quaint, 50s decoration (it's actually there since the 50s). Totally worth it!

One of our favorite places to hit up with friends & family when they visit! Good food, good prices, good people, 'nuff said! Check it out!

Too much for one person to eat. The food is so fresh and omg the milkshakes. The place itself seems not to have been renovated since the 1950's but it adds to its charm. Get there early a line forms quickly.

This crowded, busy breakfast joint is a University of Wisconsin student favorite and it is easy to see why. It is a small place, close to Camp Randall Stadium. The portion sizes are generous, the service is fast and friendly ad the food tastes terrific. Be prepared to wait during the prime breakfast time but be advised that this place... More
