Ok, we're driving through Colorado on a Sunday afternoon and feeling a bit hungry when we pulled into Cortez. My wife, as she is known to do, instructed me to just slow way down and let her look around for the 'right' spot for a quick non-fast-food mid afternoon meal. After a couple of minutes she pointed out Mr. Happy's... More

My first impression of this place was good as I pulled into the parking lot and noticed the happy faces on the kitchen vents, a window with stenciled happy faces, and a colorful cowboy mural on the exterior of the building. The waitress was excellent. I arrived shortly after they opened for breakfast and my mouth was already tasting the... More

We stopped here for dinner because it looked interesting. Nothing fancy unless you consider the motorcycle hanging on the wall fancy. The restaurant is divided into a bar area and a cafe/restaurant area. Breakfast and lunch are served all day, the dinner menu is available from 2pm to 9pm. We had a garden salad ($4.95), mixed greens, cheddar cheese, tomatoes,... More

Poor service. Waitress was slow and confused. Had to ask a couple times for items that should have come with the order initially. Couldn't get a refill for the coffee.

Got a sandwich and it was good. Baked goods dry and employees did not know much about them. Expensive for what you get for your money. Just ok. Nothing to write home about. Just an average place.

Our waitress was on the phone nearly the entire time we were there for breakfast. She still managed to get the right food delivered to all 3 tables that were filled for breakfast, but I didn't feel like it was a customer-oriented business. The food was fine--nothing to write home about.

Bakery? Not so much. Only a few things to choose from and I was really hoping to find a great bakery while here. The pastry wasn't even that good honestly. I think in a town the size of Cortez someone could make a fortune if they wanted to with a great bakery, but this is definitely not it. :(

What can I say about a place named Mr. Happy's Bakery, Bar and Grill. I loved it! Biscuits and gravy just okay. The blueberry muffin was fantastic! Great place, friendly and fast.

We went for breakfast. My brother ordered a simple bacon and eggs and he said it was good. I ordered a cinnamon roll and chai latte. The cinnamon roll was fresh and warm. It was not as yummy gooey as a gourmet roll, but it was very good. The latte was actually excellent. The service was great, not overly happy... More

My girlfriend and I stopped in for the first time since they moved to their new location downtown (above photo is old location). I had a burger and she had breakfast and both arrived quickly and cooked to specifications. The music in the bar area where we sat was a bit loud and repetitive. The service was friendly! They do...
