Good espresso, patio out back

Set in an old house on an uninspired stretch of Main Street in Cortez, they make a decent cup of joe with some unique offerings. There are scattered Formica tables and chairs in the various rooms of this old house, with a cool covered patio out back plastered with old license plates. People were... read more

My friends and I frequent Spruce tree weekly. We all agree, its the best coffee in town (and there are several choices!) for just a cup of drip coffee or any lattes, etc. Yum!

The Spruce Tree Coffeehouse has the best hot Mocha's I've ever had. They are always consistant in the way they prepare their drinks so I always know it's going to taste great. Also, their muffins, especially their carrot zucchini muffins, are the BEST!! They always have service with a smile and make you feel welcome every time you come in.... More

Just driving through from Alaska, and were looking for a nice coffee shop with free WiFi, and Spruce Tree Espresso shop provided our every want/need with excellent, restaurant-style service. The Snickers Latté was to die for, and the brewed coffee was a true delight! The breakfast burrito's were served on plates, with a side of salsa, and were very delicious... More

I can say that "Spruce Tree" is def...one of the better coffeehouse's. The service great & everyone is always smiling....They have added a lunch menu and the Big Lewboski (not sure about the spelling) is great and the side salad as well!!!!

Love it. Cool decor and always a friendly face from Sharon, Rob, Anna, or whoever else is working that day. The Mexican Mocha is a delicious treat!

Since moving to Cortez in 2011 I have been a steady customer at the "Spruce." What I like most is that in these 4 yrs, no matter what time of day or year, the coffee is always consistently excellent. An always friendly staff, certified organic and fair traded coffee--my favorite being the Southwest blend-- an atmosphere where conversation with a... More

Disappointing coffee and kind of impatient, unhelpful staff. Breakfast burritos (tried the vegetarian and the sausage one) were delicious though!

Bad coffee and snotty local 'do gooder' hippies that hang out here. Judgemetal staff is always a turn off.

Great americano but unfortunately they were out of local/organic eggs (despite advertising them on the menu), which was disappointing. Had a bagel with almond butter instead.

Sharon S, Owner at Spruce Tree Coffeehouse, responded to this review

When local ingredients are involved sometimes we do run out. We pay to have our Boards professionally printed. Therefore we don't erase an item when we are temporarily out. I am really glad you liked the coffee. That's what we are known for. More
