Great place to eat!

Recommended by our hotel front desk, our meals were excellent! Best prime rib I have had in ages, homemade soup to start, wife enjoyed the salad bar. Service was friendly and Jack stopped for a visit with us. It was good down home cooking!

We both selected the breakfast buffet on a Sunday morning - that was a mistake. Food was not as 'fresh' as it appeared. Nothing remarkable. Folks at neighboring RV park recommended, but we do not agree.

This place is a small home town place, they offer one bowl at the salad bar , and when I saw the bowl, I thought it was a little small. Well, the eyes are bigger than the stomach as it turns out . The meal was a large portion , and I could not even finish the " little bowl"... More

It all came together, good food, substantial portions, right price, and the owner connected on a personal level. He grows his own vegetables in the front yard, plays gospel music, and decorated like a diner. If I lived in Cortez I would be here a lot

I've eaten breakfast and lunch here more there three times. Clean, family run with good food. The ruben was not large, but quite good at a fair price. Will return.

We had not checked out this place first on Trip Advisor, but we were happy with our meal. I had a bacon cheeseburger and fries and the burger was big. My wife had a grilled cheese sandwich and salad bar and both our lunches were great. The salad bar was quite good too. The staff was friendly and attentive. Parking... More

We came here based on the TA reviews. We were not disappointed. It's not fancy, but it is good home cooking. we got chips and dip which was some fresh made tortillas chips that were delicious, regular tortillas and regular potatoes chips. I got a bacon cheeseburger and my husband got a "Cortez Cristo" (ham and turkey on French Toast!).... More

It is not often when you stop at a diner that a fellow patron meets you in the parking lot and tells you that this is the best place in town. We were not dissapointed. We always try to stop at local eateries when we travel and this place was perfect. Owner served us and the food and service was... More

"Country kitchen" sounded like a great place to eat. Staff were friendly and prompt but my breakfast of eggs, hash browns and toast did not live up to expectations. My hash browns were so pale, more like hash whites, and the toast also managed to get served without actually being toasted. A very anemic breakfast that I'd give two stars.... More

There is no front entrance. We had walked from the Best Western and almost didn't go around because the place looked so creepy and dark at 7PM at night on a Thursday. We went around back anyway and walked in. The sign board says "Please Let Us Seat You". So we waited. The hostess station was unmanned. The entrance was... More
