The 4 of us had a quick lunch here today. Not a bad place, most of the food was prepared fresh . This place would be a Great place for after church on Sunday. The day we were there you could hardly get in , so the locals must know more than we did. If in town I recommend having... More

Went today. Cute restaurant. Coke was flat. Big portions of frozen and/or canned food. I had the freezer-burnt chicken fried steak with brown gravy, flakey mashed potatoes, and canned green beans. The gravy tasted over-salted and I tried to scrape it off. I should have known when I glanced in the kitchen and saw the huge boxes of instant mashed... More

We ate here for lunch and althoughbthe portions were large, the fiid was only mediocre. I specifically asked if the mashed potatoes were real (not instant) and if the chicken fried steak was freely prepared. The server assured me that they were. When I received my food, the mashed potatoes were not only obviously instant. .but also room temperature. The... More

Phil's recently moved to this former restaurant when the Howard Johnson motel closed and what a step in the right direction. It has a homey feel (in an old house) and the food and service are beat only by the price. $5.99 for meat loaf, mashed potatoes, and green beans and enough to take a meal home. No wonder the... I ordered a single egg special with pancake and sausage. I know there were about 3 scrambled egg on my plate. Pancake was gigantic. Husband got hashbrowns and the order was about 3 of what Waffle house gives you. All was delicious and service was great, but they do need more wait help.

I have had the pleasure of dinning at Phils on several occasions and twice the last month. If your looking for the old fashioned, hand patted burgers like grandma used to cook ... this is the place ! Absolutely one of the best hamburgers around. Thank you Phil !
