We could smell this place from a few blocks away! We knew we had to come back for dinner! The food was delicious. I had sliced pork with a tamale and fries and hubby had the tamale spread. Wonderful! Great service and when I looked around bacK at the smokehouse, one of the cooks gave us a tour!

This is a tourists "must"! Great food, plenty of it, and excellent service. This place has been family owned since it's beginning and they've kept the warm, comfortable appeal, regardless of how much business they do. We've never had a bad experience. Even if it's packed, ( which is commonly the case), there's not a long wait. And if you... More

The Clintons made McClard's famous, and a lot of people agree. For my taste, however, the sauce is much too sweet. The restaurant is always crowded, and parking can be tricky. Portions are generous, and you will get a taste of Arkansas.

I am a southern boy.. and I love a good BBQ. We grill and BBQ all the time. I know the difference between grilling and BBQ and we can make every spice, sauce and side dish you can think of. I know if the meat has been slow cooked BBQ, smoked, steamed or just grilled. I have eaten at a... More

Still the same awesome barbecue. Yes, the sauce has a vinegar bite to it. Barbecue varies by region. Some reviewers complained about the randomness of the seating. When we were here back in the 90's the tradition was that when it looked like someone was finishing up you went and stood by their table. When they left, you would sit... More

I get tickled reading some of the comments from first time customers Some complain that parking is limited . I cannot figure why that keeps coming up. If they would just look around they would see an enormous parking lot in back that has parking galore . The old saying "be aware of your surroundings@ Comes to mind Some say... More

They don't make it easy to get in. You sometimes have to stand in line. Doesn't matter to me because we normally take out. If you are a tourist it is worth the visit just to have visited such a historic place in Hot Springs. It is Bill Clinton's favorite barbecue and he used to have it shipped to the... More

BBQ so sweet should be illegal. My vegetarian son became a carnivore here!!! The history of this place is amazing!! There is quick service, and great food!! I cannot wait to return.

If you like a strong vinegar tasting sauce and meat with no smoke flavor and very little crustiness (both essential to good BBQ) then you will like this place. Beans taste like ranch camp beans and are very mushy. No nice crusty bread to soak up sauce. A few saltine crackers. Tamale is ok, but also mushy. I did not... More
