The outside screams biker bar and the inside is not any better. During warm weather they offer a deck facing the lake with a wonderful view and an escape from the smoke fog. While your waiting for your order, you will find 10 legitimate reasons to bolt for the door, but if you can hang in there..... The Crab is... More

If you are out of Lake Hamilton and are looking for a great hangout, drop in to Smyly's. It starts rompin around 9 o'clock on Thurdays and Fridays. The is great and not pricey and they have a new band there "Midnight Paradise" that will rock your night away!!!!!!!!

This place is nothing but a hangout for druggies and drunks. The staff do nothing but party and come to work hungover and high. The place is filthy and stinks to high heaven. Fights all the time and someone was even murdered there. It is a dive in every sense of the word. If you're into drugs and drunken fighting... More

I had made a reservation for ten. The food is pricey. One person ordered an appetizer sampler. The cheese sticks had no cheese. I had crab legs which were yummy and my husband had a rib eye both delicious. He also had crab cakes which were disgusting. Clearly frozen and kind of cooked. Here is the kicker. They did not... I have passed by this joint a few times because it has the looks of a night club from the highway. A friend told me that they had the best stark he had ever eaten (at a restaurant), so I had to see for myself. I have to say that I was impressed. I ordered the 16 oz ribeye platter,... More

The kitchen is filthy, the waitresses are nothing but bar rats with no ambition to do anything in life except beg for tips and get off to go to longshots ( another bar ) and the security are "wonna be tough guys". A terrible waist of a good location.

Just a total dive on the lake. Ordered their Smyly's starter sampler...two bites and left the place. It is dirty , smelly and how they stay in business I will never understand. The tables on the out door deck were dirty and people sitting around smoking . So the smell of smoke and old fish oil was enough to make... More

This is truly a sort of shack that enjoys a reputation for cold beer and loud bands. I guess they serve food, but never had anyone tell me anything about it. Crowded and smoky with a gravel parking lot. Seem to be a local hangout of sorts, but you are liable to see lots of folks you know even if... More

Seafood is hard to prepare, and if the chef.... make that "chef" doesn't know what he or she is doing, you end up with rubber food. We had rubber food on a dirty table. The only thing that was crabby was the waitress... I don't recommend it.

My wife and I visited on a Saturday afternoon. The seafood was below average quality . The french fries were limp, probably having been cooked earlier. The grilled shrimp were bland and greasy. The hush puppies were overcooked but the fried catfish was pretty good. Pass on the crab cakes. You can get this quality at any grocery store frozen... More
