Home Cooking

Quaint little spot with southern home cooking. They have a variety to choose from. Also if you are looking for something with a New Orleans twist, they have gumbo. If you're up in the morning wanting a good.breakfast, it is very good. You will get your moneys worth.

The Higden Café has all the charm of a quaint café. Great seating for a cozy atmosphere with great service. The things to me that is over the top about Higden Café is the quality of the food when they have James Hayes cook. He prepared the food and when we were done, he came out and made sure we... More

We look for nice little cafés for breakfast, so we decided to try this place. The atmosphere is ok. What was a huge turn off for me was they had a little radio off in a corner playing a church sermon. The sound quality was horrible and grating. It seriously made it very hard for me to enjoy myself at... More

The food is good, average menu, good prices. It's just hard to enjoy your food when your surroundings are terrible. The floor looks filthy and it really needs to be replaced. The decor is very dated and it looks dusty in places. They would attract more customers if they spent the money to redo the place and give it a... More

It's a small country kitchen restaurant. All the food is homemade. The grilled catfish was great. It's not on the menu but you can get it grilled instead of fried. The homemade desserts are pretty tasty.

Overall,a terrible experience. Ate there today but never again. The food was ok but i wasn't impressed. My husband ordered a burger. His bun was stale. The prices were way overpriced for what you get. Our waitress was not very friendly at all. It is really small inside which made me feel uncomfortable. Wish I had just went to Mickey... More

We read the reviews which were not very complimentary, but the catfish deal (all you can eat) intrigued us. However, we set aside our catfish crave and ordered the 2 steak special for $11.99. With this price, we were expecting a small thin steak, and we got them. Both were cooked as ordered, but Hubby's had a large piece of... More

Chicken charred chicken instead of chicken-fried. Too much sage in the coating, when there really shouldn't be any. Cooked so long it was dark and after the first cut, all the coating popped off a dried piece of jerky. Potatoes were just ok. I hate to go to a chain when my money can go to a local business. But...
