Ate here three times in late summer of 2014. Very good food at a reasonable price. Staff is hard working and polite. If you go in the warm months, seating options are better because they open the outdoor patio.

After a long sunny (icy) hike in Hocking Hills, our group ventured here for some post-hike grub and libation. Dock on the Water has usually been our watering hole, but I'm thrilled someone suggested the Old Canal Smokehouse. From the moment we walked in the door, we felt welcome. Late on a Saturday afternoon, they were quite crowded and our... More

They have great barbecue, a wide selection of sides (unique sides), and excellent selection of beers on tap!!! You don't see Stella on draft very often. I had pulled pork and topped it with the sweet and spicy sauce. Ended up buying a bottle of sauce because we liked the flavor so much. Also loved the tomato bisque soup...outstanding. A... More

This is a place I always send people from out of town to try. If you want great food and not go to a chain restaurant this is somewhere you need to check out. Brisket is good ask for them to slice it for you and use the apple cider vinegar. Pig chips are good but the mushrooms are the... More

First time in Chillicothe, this restaurant was recommended to us. Wonderful server, more than adequate portions and good food. My only disappointment was it was a Sunday and they could not serve wine with the meal.

I have just eaten an incredible filet tonight. It was cooked perfectly with a mushroom cap, cheese, and bacon. If you want a steak, this is the place to go...

Great ambiance in the restored old building with historical pictures of Chillicothe. Excellent selection of beers on tap. I had the brisket which was pretty good - I got the macaroni as a side dish and it was phenomenal. All the sides were well priced. No issues with the service.

Our group was seated early this Saturday, 3PM, the place was virtually empty. Our server shows up five minutes later and got our drinks. One man said he wanted an appetizer, she wrote it down, then turned and left the room without asking if any of the other four people in the group would like an appetizer. We did not... More

The smokehouse has a nice atmosphere and outdoor seating. The food is good but the baked macand cheese is awesome! It seems to be the place to have lunch or have a relaxing dinner in a restaurant that is not chain, locally owned. The prices are fair and the service is good also. If your in the area stop and...
