If you want to have Chinese food in Nuwara Eliya cool climate this is the place. Food is tasty though its not hot. If you are a Sri Lankna looking to typical Chinese food better tell in advance to make it more hot. Portions are quite small compared to Colombo places. The restaurant name is not visible to outside since... More

We always have the take away Chinese lunch here. Its a large tasty portion. They take the order over the phone. Remember to take plastic spoons if you plan on a picknick lunch in the park!

We had read about this in guide books, so when in Nurawa Eliya went in search of it. I must say it is quite hard to find, no signage at all, we only found it as I had read it was in the Glendower Hotel. We were really impressed, a bit of a mixed metaphor as when you went in,... More

Came well recommended, dont get why. We had to return the pineapple juice to be mixed again as it was full of big pieces. The food was even worse. The menu has three options for most meals - small, medium and large, with no explanation whatit means. So we asked and were told a small meal with two portions of... More

We stopped in here for lunch after reading the lonely planet review. The service and the chicken and sweet corn soup were great, everything else was dissappointing even the rice. The bill was the real kicker, it was more expensive than chinese food in Australia. Don't waste your money here, try the street food and bakeries.

Enjoyed a decent meal here - not first-rate but not too shabby either. Made a pleasant change from Curry & Rice. Had a preliminary drink in the terribly clubby bar - the restaurant is part of the Hotel Glendower - a rococo half-timbered hybrid of uncertain lineage. Staff were cheerful and friendly - would go back.

We arrived here really famished ( party of 5). In our party we had 1 pure vegetarian, 1 eggatarian and others ate anyhting that crawled. We drove up to the entrence and were lokking to chow down some serious food, however when I stepped out of the car, I enquired about the vegetarian selection as the "Rough Guide" had mentioned... After good write ups in various guidebooks I was surprised how substandard this place was. I have better takeaways in English chippies. The restaurant was cold, the atmosphere was dead apart from a radio in the corner which was playing irritating Lanka pop music. Try the Indian next door. Far more appealing. The picture above must have been copied from... More

The restaurant is now hard to find: there's no street sign anymore. Anyway, it's inside the Glendower hotel, so just step in and ask... Good food (chinese, probably somehow adapted to local taste), very nice location and perfect service.

Good Chinese Food Take Away Packets available here. But you should have your own cutlery and place to eat. If not, their restaurant it also available, but the packets are much more economical!
