Hidden gem of West Branch! The location is convenient, the food is fresh and lovingly prepared and the real small town atmosphere is evident with the locals constituting a large proportion of the customer base. Great dressings on fresh greens:)

Small place with only one server but she was working hard and keeping everything flowing smoothly. Everything was delicious. Warm and cozy atmosphere.

Driving from Lincoln, Nebraska to Chicago very early one morning, I needed to get some coffee and stretch my legs. Always passing by the Herbert Hoover sign but never taking the time to stop, I figured I'd grab a quick coffee and walk around the grounds of the museum. Upon walking in to Reid's Beans I was greeted by the... More

No greasy, low quality food here. I had poached eggs & smoked salmon on sourdough bread with herb cream cheese. This came with breakfast potatoes (white & sweet) and fresh fruit (portions of banana, apple, orange, grapes). Everything tasted high quality. All this for $9! I should have tried the espresso, but I went with regular brewed coffee (which was... More

I have eaten here multiple times for their "Second Saturday" dinner and everything is always fantastic. Everything is home made and original. Husband/wife team run the whole thing...chef/waitress are a perfect team in sync with each other. They use local ingredients in season as much as possible and menu changes daily.

What a lovely little place! We saw a sign on I-80 for a local coffee shop, and we took a risk. I am so glad we did! It was a little oasis in the middle of Iowa. When we were there, it was packed with a sweet, local coffee klatch as well as tourists. It is located next to a... More

A few members of my family converged on this little place over a Saturday noon-hour. The lady that waited on us was very friendly and accommodating. The food was very fresh and very good. This little town is fortunate to have a compact little cafe like this for both locals and out-of-town visitors alike!

We went to the Hoover Presidential library for a HS field trip and after that we stopped for lunch at Reid's. What a pleasant surprise to have fresh cooked meal that was "planned" that day! The owners don't have a menu, instead they plan daily what they will offer Nd you can choose from a few dishes on a blackboard... More

After touring the Hoover historic site we decided to walk around the little town of West Branch. We walked past this local sandwich shop and decided to go in for coffee and look at their baked products. What a pleasant surprise. The little shop was clean and comfortable. The shop owner was extremely friendly to us tourist. We had a... More
