We dined here with friends last week. Set backing onto beautiful water lily gardens, this place would make a fantastic venue for a wedding reception. The restaurant itself is huge, outdoor, but under cove. The food was exquisite and the service, just what you would expect from a place with Metis' reputation. We will definitely be dining here again.

Don't be confused (as we were) if you step into Metis and see antiques - walk a little further and you're transported into tranquil Bali: a huge padi field, dim lights, and the smiles of happy diners all around. We loved our waiter who was so passionate - and knowledgeable! - in his recommendations. When we mentioned a particular dish... More

Went here for lunch with friends, the food was great but unfortunately the rice paddies just looked like a swamp (there was no rice growing that I could see). The wine was quite expensive (even for Bali). The service was ok. Good restaurant to go to if you are looking for some western style food.

Beautiful restaurant, but much better at night because the rice paddy view was more like a swamp. We had 8 people and most meals were lovely.

I really enjoyed my evening at Metis. The service was great and very friendly; the atmosphere was upbeat and trendy; and the view wonderful. The food had a few flaws but still very tasty by in large. Our lobster bisque tasted a lot like mushroom soup but was still very flavoursome. They forgot my couscous with my main which was... More

This is the less refined industrial version of Sardine which is way more authentic. If you want to be seen, this is your spot. The setting is nice and the rice field backyard is brilliant if it wasn't for the crane on the horizon and the works next doors. The bar area is nice too, but there is nothing intimate... More

A stunning setting (yes it is 'open' but we didn't find it uncomfortable or too hot at all) with very attentive and professional staff. The food is really excellent, Australian chef serving 'western' high end dining. Perhaps some of it is a little heavy for the climate (foie gras in the tropics?) but you know what you are coming for... More

I went for a burger at lunch time on the recommendation of an ex-pat local and it was very good. There was a weird event when I was there that I will not publish but i echo the comments of some other reviewers: it was very good but I am not in a rush to go back to try the... More

METIS We like to come to Metis and every time we are in Bali we try to visit. This time we a bit worried as we read some of the most recent reviews. Two of them were with well based, mature and benevolent criticism and that is why they worried us . (We dismissed outright the one that didn't like... More

I have dined here a few times now and cannot fault it. Beautiful food and the setting is just stunning at night. Highly recommend but you must book as it is very busy.
