The best restaurant in Bali by far

Sarong ticks every box. It's warm, inviting and the staff are lovely & attentive and possess excellent product knowledge. The food is the big stand out and is just sublime. Many restaurants in Bali are 'nice not amazing'.. this one is worth more than one visit on your trip. Book ahead.

We are semi regulars to this restaurant, visiting every time we go to Bali. We always ensure we have a reservation at least a few weeks in advance. As always, we were once again wowed by the ambience, the service and the food. The Balinese barramundi was excellent, as was the pork belly starter. You can't fault the service one... More

Went here tonight with my partner and we thoroughly enjoyed it. It was the best butter chicken I have ever eaten, cooked to perfection. Must try the entree naan stuffed with lamb. True Indian flavours. Great service, will go again.

2nd visit to this restaurant. Had the Panang curry with braised beef, scallop & crispy duck starter, lentils. The restaurant is a beautiful and has a great vibe. I was eating solo (yes, I eat alot!), but had fun people watching. Didn't have ressies but they were able to squeeze me in. The lentils were fantastic. Get them. Braised beef... More

This restaurant would stand tall with the best of them. Excellent t quality I gredients, excellent attentive staff and beautiful setting. Price as you would expect in a 'OK' restaurant for 7 plates plus a bottle of wine and two cocktails but here, you are getting 5 times the quality. Pork belly entre was beautiful. Crispy duck and slow braised... More

Enjoyed dinner at Sarong. A beautiful venue and delightful staff. The scallop start was lovely as was the twice cooked duck. Worth a visit.

We wanted to book for a birthday celebration. We were informed for a group of 28 people that we would have to book half the resturant (even though its seats 142 people) and spend a min of IDR50,000,000 on a set menu. Sorry, but that was just rediculous and proves that the place has an over estimated sense of it's... More

Hadn't had the opportunity to visit previously. What a great experience. Restaurant setting superb. This is the sister restaurant of mamasun which is also spectacular. Pork belly on the entrees the hit of the night. All food beautiful. Drinks great. The family went through many. Try the home made candy floss cocktail for a wow factor. Consensus of group. Food... The restaurant has great decor and very popular requiring reservations up to a week in advance, but generally, the experience was worth it. The food for our table of 4 was great except for the 1 dish, the Lamb Shank, was a bit on the tough side and not what I expected from this restaurant. Mosquitoes were out in force... More

I have heard of this restaurant over the years and never got around to sampling and its only as a friend had made the booking that we went. I so wish I tried it years ago! Its such a beautiful, ambient balinese restaurant. Our food was simply delicious with true balinese flavours, textures and scents. The presentation was a delight... More
