Delicious Food!

Smiling Buddha Restaurant serves absolutely delicious food. We ordered the special Balinese dish (need to order the day before) and weren't disappointed. The servings are massive so come with an empty stomach. All dishes are served with a frangipani flower. Smiling Buddha is the best host and is... read more

We were a little timid in our choices and did not go for the specialist dishes offered by Smiling Buddha. What we had was good but not up to the very high standard now available in Ubud where we spend most of our stay.

Nice place. Unfortunately on the menu it was not mentioned whether the food is served with rice, potatoes or something else. My friend and I ordered nasi goreng (fried rice), grilled chicken, fish satay and 'urab' (vegetable with grated coconut)- thought that we would share the fish, chicken and vegetable. But they all came with rice, so we had a... More

I stumbled upon this restaurant for a quick drink and ended up having one of the best snorkels and best tasting 'margaritas' in town. The owner is amazing - full of smiles and eager to join your table and listen to your travel stories. Its not called the Smiling Buddha for nothing. Definitely worth a stop for some great hospitality... More

the food here was divine. i ate here everyday when we stayed for a week and worked my way through the Balinese specialties. each one more delicious than the last - especially the banana flower. These meals are serve with red rice, which is not only a healthier option but delicious.

During our stay at Meditasi, we had dinner, lunch and breakfast several times at the restaurant Smiling Buddha. It is very tasteful, all organic food, typical Balinese and Indonesion dishes. They prepare and presentate the food with a lot of love and devotion. What is also a big plus is the happy hour between 6 and 7 pm. Great deal... More

This menu stands apart for having a special Balinese vegetables section, and what was in season was some sort of green leaf (NOT the ubiquitous water spinach, thank you) that was served chopped and al dente, with those little crunchy fried scallions on top. Superb! We had some great fresh seafood with a nice, unusual tomato salsa on top. The... More
