In the middle of the crab shacks at Kep Crab Market, Trei is a clean, atmospheric restaurant that goes a little further than its neighbours. It serves the same seafood and crabs fresh from the sea that laps the restaurant's dining platform but is a little cleaner, is more tastefully decorated and in addition to that standard crab shack fare offers delicious salads and appetizers. Prices are no higher than the other restaurants in the Market though the dining experience feels classier. It's located next to the Toucan bar.

Reading the reviews in here, we wanted to eat at Trei but it was closed on our first night, so we ate in kimberly instead which was fantastic. Trei was open the next night, however the restaurant was empty. We thought we would go in anyway (we usually avoid empty places). We had seafood skewers if which the squid could... More

Easily the best food we experienced in Kep (maybe Cambodia). Lovely setting, great service and delicious food. The seafood skewers are brilliant as were the prawns in green pepper sauce. We tried Kimli's the night before and, admittedly, it was great but this place was significantly nicer (food and decor). If you're only at the crab market once go here... More

This was the best of all restaurants I tried on Crab market. The food was exellent, so was the service. They are cheaper than Kimley, and I found their green pepper dishes much better

Beautiful sunset view, lovely staff, beers were 1 USD all day every day... Food, well a bit disappointing. I had the napolenta pasta as I'm vego, It (like many Khmer cooks do) had wayyyy to much sugar for an evening meal. A small amount of sugar to break down the tomatoes is fine, but this was actually disgusting! If you're... More

As Kimly (recommended by our guidebook) was closed we went to this restaurant and were not disappointed! We had the crispy crab and the peppercorn crab, both meals were delicious at a reasonable price (27$ including wine and cocktails). Service a bit slow but we didn't mind and appreciated the relaxing atmosphere. We absolutely recommend this restaurant!

Unpretentious but immaculate environment (plain wooden tables, walls of bamboo screens) - and a menu that offered seafood au natural....ie not drowned in spicy and overdone sauces. A palatable Chardonnay, excellent ice-cream desert, friendly service, relaxed atmosphere - this was one of our best dining experiences in Cambodia. And the bill came to about the same as a Big Mac... Not too busy the night I went, it was perfect [I don't like crowds!] The service was friendly and quiet too ... not too intrusive. The food, was delicious ... I had a fish which I really enjoyed because you could taste the fish rather than an abundance of accompanying herbs and spices .... they were there, but just enough... More

Went for dinner and the food is really good! We have the peppercorn crab, garlic prawns, BBQ squid and springrolls. You should definitely have the peppercorn crab and garlic prawns!!!! AMAZING!!!! Pricing wise, it is similar to other restaurants in Kep. Cost us USD 30 for the above and 5 beers. Great setting by the beach, unfortunately it suddenly started... More

All of the restaurants at the crab market seemed pretty similar. We ate here and at Kimly, the tourist favorite. I thought my meal at Trei was better, and cheaper, and it wasn't packed with tourists. The menu is a bit more limited, but that's often a good thing. The crab with peppercorns shouldn't be missed, but try some of... More
