Worth the wait on a Sunday morning - delicious food, great portions...the biscuits are enormous! We didn't have a long wait when we went, but it was a rainy morning & you have to wait outside as the restaurant is small & uses its space for tables & food! We drove by last weekend & the line was much longer... More

I enjoyed a great breakfast- scrambled eggs, bacon, grits, and a huge biscuit. The eggs were cooked nicely, bacon was crispy, and the biscuit was excellent. The biscuit was gigantic, but it was still really tasty with a soft, fluffy texture. Up until about 7:30 am, this breakfast (with other options like toast or home fries) is only about five... More

There are times when I am guilty of not appreciating the Greensboro restaurant environment, or at the very least, not giving the proper respect to the gems of that scene - gems like this busy, funky little diner with pictures of Lexington barbecue pigs on the walls, which serves (with pleasant efficiency) excellent comfort food morning, noon, and night, and... If you feel a need for the biggest, best biscuit this is the place. My wife usually gets the biscuit & gravy, while I have their huge huge omelette with a biscuit. Both are fantastic and if you don't like big breakfasts, don't go.

If you are a fan, as am I, of plain old fashioned, family run diners, this is your spot. My corned beef hash was as good as it gets, and the fresh coffee from fresh ground beans was perfect. Be prepared for biscuits the size of a small cake!

Small, retro diner with fabulous food and equally fabulous service....Reminds me of the eateries of my youth that textile mill workers flocked to for great food at a value price....Biscuits to die for, gravy like mamma used to make, and eggs that smile back at you on the plate....You can't go wrong with Smith Street Diner.......

Amazing family atmosphere. Food was good I have never had a biscuit that large in my life. Very lively and there was a line on Saturday morning. It was worth the wait. Will definitely come back during my next trip to Greensboro. Oh yeah there were no flies of any kind.

Great, friendly service. The grits and gravy are hot and buttery. The coffee is fresh and strong. The biscuits are huge, fluffy, warm, and buttery. This is where the locals eat. A must try!

Love the quaintness, the history and the friendliness of the staff. Loved our breakfast. Our second time going. Jennifer our waitress was wonderful and they served our party of seven in no time at all. Just have to wait to get in, but once in, fabulous! The biscuits and pancakes are huge and thanks to Jennifer I had the Virginia... More
