Great place for sushi

I really enjoyed the sushi they have many different things to try. It was fresh and delicious. The hibachi is good also service however needs some work the prices are fair. The place is not the nicest visually but make up for it with some great sushi.

My only complaint is that meals take quite some time. Not ideal for a limited lunch break. That being said I believe they started pre-preparing some sushi for lunch to address this. (Used to make everything fresh at time of order) The sushi and other items are phenomenal and the owner (sushi master) and his wife are very nice and... More

Don't be fooled by the appearance of the building. EVERY good Sushi and food. Run by a family. I wouldn't recommend taking large groups here unless they're just getting sushi. Main dishes may come out at different times. Worth it

Akashi may not look like much, but it is a hidden gem! It's run by a husband and wife team alone, so service can be a little slow sometimes, as you would expect. But the food? AMAZING!! Authentic Japanese sushi and food served with pride and a smile. I have never had anything other than the best flavor and freshness,... More

One of the hallmarks of authentic sushi is that rice is seasoned with fish-stock, sugar, and vinegar. Theirs was most definitely not seasoned at all, with just plain rice. Flavor was off by a mile. The rolls were a little loose and uneven, a sign of someone who is just learning how to make sushi. I should know- It looked... More

One of the key watchouts for authentic Japanese food is to look at the tempura coating (if that is available). It should be light pale yellow, crispy and should have a lot of crispies as coating. Akashi's tempura coating is like fish 'n' chips type batter. The sushi was tasty enough but it didn't taste like good Japanese sushi. Also... More

We got the "Sushi Regular" special and it came with 24 pieces: 6 California, 6 spicy tuna, 6 shrimp tempura, 1 crab, 1 salmon, 1 tuna, 1 shrimp, 1 sea bass, and 1 octopus. The sushi looked great, but when my wife and I bit into the sushi, we were disappointed. The spicy tuna roll had no flavor. The shrimp... More

We stopped on the way through Greensboro and found the staff extremely accommodating and friendly. The food was excellent. The price was consistent with the quality.

This is my go to spot for sushi when I'm in Greensboro. The staff is very polite although the service can be a bit slow at times (which I've mostly only encountered this at dinner time and not during lunch). The food is fresh and overall pretty good. The staff is very polite.

Went here for valetines day after reading some good reviews. Boy was I disappointed!!! Very slow service, long wait times, food was served 10 to 15 mins apart so while one person ate the whole table was staring
