I recently moved to Greensboro and had a craving for sushi. Thanks to Google and TripAdvisor, we decided to try Akashi because of the amazing reviews, particularly regarding the customer service. We drove over on a Saturday evening and arrived around 7 p.m. The outside is very plain, white building and honestly, I would not have noticed their sign at... More

I will start by saying that I have traveled the country and sushi is one of my favorite foods. In Greensboro it may be great sushi, but I would give it a 7.5 out of 10 overall for sushi. My wife and kids had the hibachi (which by the way was not cooked in front of us like we prefer)... More

The Japanese couple who own this resturant are extremely friendly and personable. Personally, walking into that resturant makes me feel like they are welcoming me into their home. I have had long conversations with them. The food there is the most authentic Japanese cuisine that you can get in Greensboro, possibly North Carolina. The couple moved here from Akashi Japan,... The sushi here is good. The only thing about this place is it is not in a fancy building nor do they have a ton of fancy specialty rolls. The sushi chef (i assume owner) gave me a roll on the house. The waitress was stopped several times to check on me. Both the sushi chef and who I assume... More

We knew we wanted a good-quality, fun sushi experience, so we decided to take a gamble on this place. The staff was so nice! We got a whole free sushi roll, asked by the chef if our food was good, and were treated like regulars even though it was our first time. The sushi rolls were delicious as well. Definitely... More

We were invited for an informal lunch, Akashi was the place we went too. We loved the sushi and noodles. Service was great and we were well entertained. Guess you need to see for yourself

We had dinner here one night and were happy we did. The sushi and kitchen food were excellent. They make the food more authentic than a lot of places. It was not watered down for American tastes. We were surprised it was not more crowded. Overall, this was a great dining experience.

An authentic Japanese restaurant with excellent food! The owner is Japanese and brings dishes to the menu not found on other local "Japanese" restaurants. Be adventurous and go with those for a treat.

We happened upon this restaurant by accident due to a wrong exit. So glad we did! Not only was it the best sushi I have ever had, their vegetarian sushi selection was also great. Definitely going back!

The staff were attentive to guests and to maintaining a high quality dining experience. Most dishes were $10-$20 and the sushi and hibachi were well prepared. Beautiful, relaxing decor. A great find for us on TripAdvisor as we were traveling through the area, and I am so happy to have a "go-to" place for dinner when we travel this way... More
