The good... The Gyoza, the polite staff, and a feeling of authentic Japanese cuisine. The not so good: Most of us ate less than 1/2 our meal. Empty restaurant, only two tables. Asked for fried rice, (restaurant made it) but chef would not give me fried rice with my meal. Order was wrong. Had regrets, wished we would have picked... More

The food was good, hot, the crab was fresh tasting. Service was good but very slow. We were the only ones in the restaurant for lunch at 1:30 p.m.. The menu was not real deep as far as the sushi goes. Food overall was good.

This place is just OK. Located in the Friendly Center, it seems to be well situated if you need Japanese when in the area. The rolls are tiny and the flavors are mediocre. Hard to describe other than not bad, but not good either.

I read the reviews for this restaurant and decided to see for myself. I was very disappointed. We arrived on a Saturday night and was there for an hour. Not one other customer came during that entire hour. This should have warned us, but we stayed and tried it anyway. We wanted a sampler plate of the sushi. The waitress... More

I recently moved to Greensboro and had a craving for sushi. Thanks to Google and TripAdvisor, we decided to try Akashi because of the amazing reviews, particularly regarding the customer service. We drove over on a Saturday evening and arrived around 7 p.m. The outside is very plain, white building and honestly, I would not have noticed their sign at... More

I will start by saying that I have traveled the country and sushi is one of my favorite foods. In Greensboro it may be great sushi, but I would give it a 7.5 out of 10 overall for sushi. My wife and kids had the hibachi (which by the way was not cooked in front of us like we prefer)... More

The Japanese couple who own this resturant are extremely friendly and personable. Personally, walking into that resturant makes me feel like they are welcoming me into their home. I have had long conversations with them. The food there is the most authentic Japanese cuisine that you can get in Greensboro, possibly North Carolina. The couple moved here from Akashi Japan,... The sushi here is good. The only thing about this place is it is not in a fancy building nor do they have a ton of fancy specialty rolls. The sushi chef (i assume owner) gave me a roll on the house. The waitress was stopped several times to check on me. Both the sushi chef and who I assume... More

We knew we wanted a good-quality, fun sushi experience, so we decided to take a gamble on this place. The staff was so nice! We got a whole free sushi roll, asked by the chef if our food was good, and were treated like regulars even though it was our first time. The sushi rolls were delicious as well. Definitely... More

We were invited for an informal lunch, Akashi was the place we went too. We loved the sushi and noodles. Service was great and we were well entertained. Guess you need to see for yourself
