Great place for sushi

I really enjoyed the sushi they have many different things to try. It was fresh and delicious. The hibachi is good also service however needs some work the prices are fair. The place is not the nicest visually but make up for it with some great sushi.

One of the key watchouts for authentic Japanese food is to look at the tempura coating (if that is available). It should be light pale yellow, crispy and should have a lot of crispies as coating. Akashi's tempura coating is like fish 'n' chips type batter. The sushi was tasty enough but it didn't taste like good Japanese sushi. Also... More

We got the "Sushi Regular" special and it came with 24 pieces: 6 California, 6 spicy tuna, 6 shrimp tempura, 1 crab, 1 salmon, 1 tuna, 1 shrimp, 1 sea bass, and 1 octopus. The sushi looked great, but when my wife and I bit into the sushi, we were disappointed. The spicy tuna roll had no flavor. The shrimp... More

We stopped on the way through Greensboro and found the staff extremely accommodating and friendly. The food was excellent. The price was consistent with the quality.

This is my go to spot for sushi when I'm in Greensboro. The staff is very polite although the service can be a bit slow at times (which I've mostly only encountered this at dinner time and not during lunch). The food is fresh and overall pretty good. The staff is very polite.

Went here for valetines day after reading some good reviews. Boy was I disappointed!!! Very slow service, long wait times, food was served 10 to 15 mins apart so while one person ate the whole table was staring

The good... The Gyoza, the polite staff, and a feeling of authentic Japanese cuisine. The not so good: Most of us ate less than 1/2 our meal. Empty restaurant, only two tables. Asked for fried rice, (restaurant made it) but chef would not give me fried rice with my meal. Order was wrong. Had regrets, wished we would have picked... More

The food was good, hot, the crab was fresh tasting. Service was good but very slow. We were the only ones in the restaurant for lunch at 1:30 p.m.. The menu was not real deep as far as the sushi goes. Food overall was good.

I read the reviews for this restaurant and decided to see for myself. I was very disappointed. We arrived on a Saturday night and was there for an hour. Not one other customer came during that entire hour. This should have warned us, but we stayed and tried it anyway. We wanted a sampler plate of the sushi. The waitress... More

I recently moved to Greensboro and had a craving for sushi. Thanks to Google and TripAdvisor, we decided to try Akashi because of the amazing reviews, particularly regarding the customer service. We drove over on a Saturday evening and arrived around 7 p.m. The outside is very plain, white building and honestly, I would not have noticed their sign at... More
