I pulled into the parking lot to make a u-turn. Saw the sign for prime rib and went in. I write a lot of reviews and for the most part I enjoy almost everything. But I cannot give this place anything more than a 2/5 rating I ordered the thick cut prime rib and hit the salad bar. The salad... More

My daughter graduated from Bowie High School on June 2nd. Knowing that 80 percent of her graduating class would be eating out afterwards we wanted to avoid the Red Lobsters and the Friday's...so we called Sir Walter Raleigh Inn. At that moment God blessed me. The restaurant was close to the Comcast Center and I know they have great food.... More

My wife and I were visiting DC and we stopped to Sir Walter Raleigh to have dinner. I order Prime Rib and my wife order crab cake. We had some salad from the salad bar that was very modest. I had to wait more than 30 minutes to have my dinner served. When I finally received my Prime Rib, it... More

This was another winter visit to Sir Walter Raleigh restaurant. I found it warm and cozy seated near the fireplace and it's certainly close to home (I live in Greenbelt, Maryland). The prime rib was delicious. Yes, their breads are out of this world good. I enjoyed their fresh salad bar selections and yummy soups. Our service was excellent. I'm... More

This is a well hidden gem. There is no fine dining in Greenbelt, MD- except for Sir Walter Raleigh. This place has wonderful food and the ambience (with fireplaces) is cozy. It's great for a private room rehearsal dinner or for a retirement party or team event too. My dad LOVED the prime rib. I am a fan of the... More

The salad bar had brown lettuce and my steak was so tough I could hardly cut it even with the steak knife. Wine tasted very cheap. I was very disappointed overall. You had to flag down the waiter if you needed anything. I definitely was not impressed and will not be returning.

We are from NH traveling through the area and read these reviews in hopes of finding a good solid meal. We looked at the menu on line and it looked like there was something for everyone....steak, fish, pasta, pork etc. Well, things have changed I would say! We sat down looked at the menu and should have left, primarily the... More

Last night, October 10, 2013, my husband and I dined at Sir Walter Raleigh's in Greenbelt, Maryland. We have patronized this restaurant for many years. Each Thursday, in addition to one pot of soup (generally beef soup), there is another pot of "Sara's Chili" offered as part of the Soup & Salad Bar. Sara’s Chili is the best! Many times... More

Great service, excellent food even though the place has the 70's decor. Owner is very personable and came out to welcome us from California.

This used to be the place that everyone raved about years ago. They use to have several locations and this is the last one. This place and its interior is dark and outdated. The salad bar is only fair and Early Bird Specials were lacking. I mean when you use to order shrimp here it was fresh and not of... More
