Friendly family restaurant

Took a group in before U of MD basketball game. Very friendly - food was good. Owner visited us at the table and gave me a free dessert because I threatened to cheer for Wisconsin. Old time family restaurant feel. Enjoyed it.

Stopped in on a Fri night with a bus tour. Large place, many tables, all empty... can't imagine anyone would ever need to wait to be seated. Salad bar not looking very clean or maintained. Waitress was a mess - white shirt stained/dirty all over, hair a mess - I've been a waitress myself before, and this restaurant was NOT... More

Went there with a tour group. The restaurant decor needs updating everything looks like it could use a good cleaning specifically the glass around salad bar. On the positive side portions were generous and the chicken noodle soup was good. I had the prime rib and it was ok nothing special, my companion had the crabcake and liked it. Overall... More

We just picked this restaurant off a list because the menu sounded nice. Well it was great. Charlie the cook and Jerry the owner were super nice and accommodated our party of 8 so nicely. We had a wonderful fun waiter named Tim. He gave wonderful suggestions on meals. The salad bar had a wide selection plus 2 soups. I... More

Went based on the fact the the Greenbelt area doesnt offer many choices. Older place that locals seem to like. Ordered the crabcake and was pleased with my meal. Not sure I would rush back. Service was slow and it is a bit overpriced for what I got. Not a great place to go solo.

This has been in the same location for many years. In it's heyday all of life's events where celebrated here. The food was always a treat. Now it is dying, I sad to say it's time to close the doors.

This used to be our go-to special occasion restaurant. During our last two visits 9about 6 months apart) the food was good, but nothing special, the salad bar has been reduced to basics (they used to have salad, soup and a variety of rolls), and the restaurant needs a refresh at a minimum. Also, the service was no more than... More

Was staying at the Best Western Plus in College Park and desperately was looking for a non-chain restaurant. Got lucky finding this place. Service was EXCELLENT (thank you, Jason)! Crab cakes were good as was the filet. Would definitely recommend to those looking to get away from the college bars/restaurants.

I've been a patron of SWRI for over 30 years now and I have to say that their Prime Rib is still the best in the area.

The restaurant was suggested by our hotel - the restaurant is very set back in a parking lot behind another building - the street signage is small and hard to notice. Menu says salad bar not included in several meal choices, but when others at the party got salads, waiter told me to help myself to the salad. (there is... More
