This place definitely lives up to the mission of providing healthy food in a diner environment. Good food, healthy food, local food, made for a satisfying meal. The only thing was - It didn't give me a full diner experience. I did have breakfast for dinner, so it does have all day breakfast, but some of the items were more... More

Visited twice because we were impressed. Food was pretty good and portions were generous. Wait staff could have been friendlier, the first waiter we had seemed unsure about how to answer some of our questions. The fries were phenomenal!

Looks like a diner, sounds like a diner -- but the food was anything but greasy fried spoon fare. They use fresh and organic ingredients (even had organic wines) that are prepared more like what you'd expect from an upscale eatery. Three of our party had salmon -- two different ways--and I had the fish tacos. All were excellent.

Enjoyed it enough to return twice in 2 days. Sausages were so good, Belgian Waffle was Great, Fish and Chips were plentiful and tasty.

We've been going to Silver Diner for years: reliably decent diner food at a modest price. But in the past few years, they've made persistent efforts to get higher quality local ingredients, get a bit more creative with spices and recipes, and generally change things up. It's still the old diner, but with a dash of class. And in recent... More

My husband and I ate there twice in our visit to Greenbelt, once for dinner and once for breakfast. He like his dinner better (a burger) and I liked my breakfast better (Belgian waffle and eggs). The food is all made from local farms and all fresh. It is a nice atmosphere but the food is good diner food.

We ate breakfast here both days that we were in the area. I like the emphasis on farm fresh and locally sourced. The coffee was strong, fresh and rich but not bitter. The whole wheat bread used for toast was freshly baked and very good. The hash browns are the best we've ever had, made with fresh potatoes, not at... More

For a phony diner is very good. Staff is a mix from friendly to unavailable. The emphasis on Maryland locally grown or raised is nice and came from the local aging hippies and propeller heads. Service is pretty slow so take a handheld to surf the Net. Once finished you need to track down your server to pay your check.
