Love the food at this restaurant! During good weather you can sit outside in the historic old Greenbelt Shopping Center center court area. Best falafel ever! This restaurant is Lebanese, but I only know it as hippie health food - and it's top notch. The creme brulee is to die for. This is also a great venue to sit and... More

I was happy when the New Deal Cafe switched over to Lebanese food, which isn't easy to find in PG County. The food is good, the service is fairly quick and friendly, and the prices reasonable. If you like live music or poetry, you can come for that, too. Conveniently located in Greenbelt's Roosevelt Center, right across from the P&G... More

Stuck in the thick afternoon traffic on the Beltway, we decided to take a detour and try out some Lebanese food. It wasn’t an ordinary restaurant as it hosts pub quizzes, live jazz and local artists exhibitions. To top it all, it was a co-op. Food was healthy and tasty but I found the serving size of soup and lentil... More

The staff asked if I knew their food and described all the portions to me, and I went for a platter of four choices. Some of these were salads and the hot food portions were also smallish, but everything was very tasty including the draft beer. There was a band playing rock classics with the singer even managing to sound... More

New Deal Cafe is located in the heart of Old Greenbelt, a public cooperative built in 1937 as pat of the (you guessed it) New Deal. The planned "green" town has changed little since then, and the Cafe perfectly captures its spirit. Patrons of other political persuasions are welcome. There is live music six nights a week, pub trivia once... More

Not a large menu, but with tasty variety. Fave is the chocolate mousse. Their lentils and rice are delicious for vegans; add yogurt sauce on top if you're a vegetarian. There's food for the spicy and the mild with live music in a back room if you're interested. Karim and Maria are wonderful proprietors. You'll become a friend on your... More

We had a delightful dinner on a weekend trip with our grandson to Washington. The food was fantastic, and the staff could not have been more welcoming. The music was great, and if we had not had to get an 8 year old to bed, we would have stayed much longer. It was a bit of a challenge to find... More

I grew up spoiled for choices in Dominican Republic where Lebanese Cuisine was concerned and while I have since learned to love and experience some of the other awesome Middle Eastern food in MD, I desperately missed Kibbeh (or Kipe in DR). These lovely little bulgur wheat croquettes filled with seasoned beef, raisins, and spices are sold here and THEY... More

WIth its casual atmosphere, delicious Middle-Eastern food, and reasonable prices, what's not to like? Meet a friend for a snack and conversation, enjoy brunch with family and friends, listen to live music, or grab a tasty, filling meal before a movie just across the courtyard.

This is great place to go if you are also going out the the movies in the same location. The food is good and has a great variety of choices. The place is a bit funky but if you can look beyond that you will enjoy the food. Some evenings individuals come in to bang on the piano and this... More
