As a local, the Donut Friar is the place to go for donuts and pastries. I would recommend a favorite but honestly after 25 years, I have difficulty picking just one and end up leaving with a box. Just keep in mind the later you go, the smaller selection there is. Wonderful to sit outside on a pretty day.

This is the ONLY bakery I will eat a cake donut at. They are so good and fresh. This is the FIRST place my family goes to when we hit the strip in Gatlinburg. It smells so good in there, too!

Went in this place expecting a great experience, quaint shop on the village, coffee, donuts. Well the guy working was a total jerk, he was berating an elderly woman working there to the point of embarrassment for my family. Got one cup of coffee and left. It was lukewarm and nasty. Never going back.

Always make a point to go here early when visiting gatlinburg, probably the best donuts in this area. Also have great coffee, and a nice little area outside to sit and read the paper. The glazed are very popular and usually gone first. But everything we have tried was delish. Must stop to start your day out right.

The Donut Friar is off the beaten path in Gatlinburg, but well worth the visit. They make and fry the donuts on the premises, unlike Duncan, which are frozen, so they are extremely fresh.

Best authentic coffee cup in gatlinburg here. They were out of glazed by the time I made it there on Friday, but the chocolate iced donuts were great. Great hot apple code too
