A delightful throwback, a nice dining experience

"Gatlinburg" and "haute cuisine" are not two things you'll see in the same sentence. The #1 reviewed restaurant on TA is a hot dog joint. Seriously? It's tough to fine a nice meal, particularly if you're in town for more than two days. The Cherokee is nice, but pretty much the same food is served... read more

Greenbrier restaurant is off the busy streets of Gatlinburg but worth the beautiful drive. My family of 4 generations decided to give it a try and we all ordered something different and no one was disappointed. Our waitress Cathy was wonderful too.

Beautiful structure with incredible views. Amazing service. Some of the best food we had on our weekend visit to Gatlinburg - think "tender pork loin stuffed with apples and walnuts". The location makes you forget you are near one of the most crowded strips in America.

The food at the Greenbrier was superb. The restaurant is a little hard to find since it is up a winding little mountain road. When you get there, the view is so worth it. The back area is glassed in, and you can overlook the forest. You are actually up in the top of the trees. We loved this restaurant... More

We are always looking for the "out of the way" place. We found it at The Greenbrier. David and Becky are owner/operators and it shows. Laid back, away from the tourist crush, we found an expansive menu with great variety. My wife got the chefs choice, smoked salmon with fresh chive dressing- excellent. The small bar was filled with locals... More

Great food, service and atmosphere, we eat here every year when we are in the Smoky Mountains. The prime rib and French onion soup are excellent.

After reading other reviews of both 5 stars and only 1 star, my wife and I weren't sure what to expect. We arrived late and there were only 2 other tables occupied, so there was no waiting at all. A friendly gentleman greeted us and took us to our table. Waitress was quite nice, efficient, and patient. Started with cheese... More

This was not our first trip to the Greenbrier and probably won't be our last. This trip was just......weird. We were seated by the host and not thirty seconds later we had a waitress standing next to us.....just staring at us. 'What do you want to drink?' was the question. I ordered us a couple of glasses of wine which... More

What we enjoyed the most was the location of this quiet and quaint restaurant. We went on a rainy Thursday evening in April and it was not busy. Most of the tables are situated by large windows overlooking trees. We were seated immediately and waited on quickly. Our food was timed perfectly. We had an appetizer of Mozzarella sticks which... Everything about The Greenbrier impressed me. The gentleman who seated us, the waitress that took great care of us and of course the food! The portions were more than one person could consume so we left with enough for another meal. This was our first visit, but definitely won't be our last.
