Enjoyable Experience at the Greenbrier

We enjoyed our meals at this restaurant. The service is good, the atmosphere is good, and the view is pleasant. We like being able to use Restaurant.com Dining Certificates when we eat here.

To start... Found Greenbriar off of tripadvisor...based on the reviews, thought we would give it a try. Had we not known about this restaurant prior to our visit, we never would have found it nestled away as it was. Why we won't return... A) one of two couples in the restaurant B) overhead music broken and playing the same one... More

Went here looking for an off the beaten path away from downtown experience. The drive up to it was enticing as was the history of the restaurant. Wasn't so bad upon entry. Menu was basic but basic can be excellent. First ordered the escargot which the server mispronounced as escardot when corrected she said she had worked there for 6... More

We discovered The Greenbriar looking for a quiet dinner away from town. The drive up the mountain to this lovely property was well worth it as was the view from our table. Service and food were both good. The Mountain Trout was delicious but quite bony but the sauteed vegetables were fabulous. My husband's Roast Prime Rib was satisfying. Discovering... More

My family and I were looking for a nice, somewhat fancy restaurant to eat at and did a lot of research and were very happy to have fallen upon Greenbrier. Tucked in the mountains, this place was so quiet and serene! We got seated right away at a table right next to large windows overlooking the trees. My mother ordered... More

After a offbeat drive up the mountain and finding this restaurant located perched in a lovely setting, I had high expectations. We were greeted cordially and seated immediately. Then our experience went straight downhill. The house wine was Rex Goliath at $5 a glass or $19 a bottle. Of course I expect a significant markup at restaurants but pricing a $6... More

If you want to get away from or don't want to go downtown for a good dinner, do not fear, there is a places you can go. Greenbrier Restaurant is away from it all but very close by. From the drive up, to the building itself, you know you are in the mountains. Great view from the dining room and... More

I had not been to this restaurant in years, but I remembered how much I loved it and the peaceful forest scenery from the windows. My daughter, grandson, and I were seated immediately. Our waitress was Jo and and was both efficient and knowledgeable. I had smoked salmon and it was quite delicious. Our salads were fresh and tasty with... More

Lovely location nestled in the woods. We got the Fire Cracker Beer that was on happy hour, it was icy cold and tasty. The French onion soup was the best I've tasted in a long time, I got the jalapeño clam chowder and it was rich and creamy. My husband and I both ordered the prime rib, their speciality. His... More

We have been coming to Gatlinburg for a few years and actually have a cabin here and never had heard of the Greenbrier until last weekend. It is off the beaten path back in the woods in a beautiful historic building. We were seated in a dining room with a panoramic view of the treetops. I had grilled shrimp with... More
