4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2015 NEW

I am amused by the one star review two doors down. I am not entirely sure what this person expected. We did our research. We KNEW this was an old school restaurant. Within walking distance of our hotel, we went here on our first night. The older gentleman greeted and seated us. I did not notice his jeans. Just wasn't... More

A must for everyone! Try the trout blackened or the Eisenhower trout, you won't be disappointed!! Service was great and prompt, and the atmosphere is quaint. We eat here every time we visit the Smokies.

I have NO IDEA how this place has 4 stars. This was the lowest part of our trip. We spend $70 on less than mediocre, outdated food snd strange service for two people. It seems that nothing has changed since they opened in the 70's. We were waited on my an ancient woman who is apparently also the owner/cook. We... More

Our party of nine really enjoyed this restaurant. Not everyone was a trout eater when we entered but were when we left! Great atmosphere and the service was friendly and efficient. Everything is included in the dinner price. We will visit again!

The meal was fantastic however it could use a good cleaning. The décor is timeless and the room is very small. I had to go up the stairs to use the restroom (that didn't bother me at all). The stairs were so sticky I could feel it. Felt like someone had spilled soda on them for years and never had... More

Second time I've eaten here. Love the variety of preparation. We split the smoked trout and the blackened. Nice to get the whole fish (even if they take the head-off, would prefer with the head) versus the filet you get most places. If you want fresh mountain trout, this is your place. Right as you enter Gatlinburg so you can... More

The place may be a little small, but it is a place to visit at least once. There is a reason it has been open for decades. The fish is cooked well, and the decor is timeless.

I really don't understand why this restaurant is rated so high. It opened in 1975 and I honestly don't think anything has been updated since then. It was like being in a bad episode of the Twlight Zone. The food wasn't bad, but it was hard to overlook how old and drab and very dirty everything was. I can't believe... More

The food is 4 star, the manager a 1 star. Enjoyed some good food. They know how to fix trout, as good as you will find. The coconut creme pie was excellent. They were short staffed, but did a good job. The manager was just flat rude, and trying to turn tables. Could use a good cleaning.
