My husband and I came up here for the weekend and I am VERY pleased to say that our first dining out experience here has been a complete success. I am very gluten intolerant and had a hard time finding places listed online and being gluten free friendly. Today I tried out the Crooked Spoon Cafe and am pleased to... More

Food is quite good here with a nice variety of well prepared dishes. Crab cake app is great. The "back of the house" has it together and is to be commended while the "front of the house" has a few issues. Our waitress (who is expecting) one evening was just very very good while on another evening the other waitress... More

We ate at several restaurants in Grand Marais over the last few years and this is by far the best. The only thing it's lacking is a view. I had Jumbo Shrimp with Arugula Pesto mashed potatoes and grilled corn on the cob. I ate every bite. It was fantastic.

My husband and I visited The Crooked Spoon for the first time on Sunday, August 26th. We ordered the Crabcakes with Firecracker Jimica Slaw and Scallion Oil as our appetizer and were pleasantly surprised that the crabcakes were actually made with real blue crab. The only filler we found was the delicious peppers mixed in with the crab! Absolutely delicious.... More

On our first trip up to Grand Marais, we chose to have lunch at the Crooked Spoon Cafe. To be honest, it was the name that captured our attention. Wait staff were friendly and welcoming; service was excellent; and meals were tasty and adequate. The cafe is small, but even when full the atmosphere is like being seated at your... More

Coming out of the BWCA after 4 nights of dried food, a friend and I went here to quench our thirst for beer and craving for fresh veggies. We were told we could wait at the bar and order an appetizer while waiting for a table (no reservations for less than 6) which suited us fine. We ordered our beer... More

We ate at the Crooked Spoon for dinner and then returned another day for lunch. The food is delicious with a bit of a gourmet touch. People of all ages were enjoying their meals. Nice wine and beer list as well.

One of the highlights of my annual visit to Grand Marais is eating at the Crooked Spoon Cafe. All the food is simply delicious: soups, salads, entrees, and Lola's Blueberry Pie. Good wine list and the service is excellent. I am never disappointed. TIP: The restaurant closes between lunch and dinner, so be sure to check when it is open.

Always a good choice for dinner. The portions are large (prices too but typical for Grand Marais). We love the buffalo chicken wings dribbled in blue cheese and the fish is great. My daughter had the quinoa salad - it was the tables favorite.

My family eats here yearly and none of the 14 of us are ever disappointed. From the mussels to the chicken to the shrimp to the fondue, the food is creatively prepared, beautifully presented and uniformly delicious. Our ages range from 8 to 76 and all are satisfied. We look forward to returning each year.
