Best restaurant in town. Great service, wonderful food, and a really fun atmosphere. Great job! Top of my list of this to do in Grand Marias.

This is a very small, casual place with excellent food. We waited only about 10 minutes for a table and it was worth it. The scallops were perfectly cooked. The grilled whitefish was very tasty, but just a notch below what we had at the Angry Trout. The pie of the evening was blueberry and it was excellent. A definite... More

Amazingly good food, cozy ambience. Real treat in such a touristy town. We came in right a noon on a busy day in town and got a table for 5 immediately. Had a full kids menu that didn't limit itself to just the basics. Our kids chose the pizza, which was excellent, but the next table over had a delicious-looking... More

I was wavering between The Angry Trout and this. I am glad I chose the Crooked Spoon. The menu was small but very tempting, the food was delicious and prepared perfectly, the service was great. I'll be back!

I eat non dairy vegan food . I was able to share a tasty meal with my friend who is a lacto ovo vegetarian . We had the very yummy hummus with baguette and crudités . The waitress kindly inquired if the baguette had any animal fat - it didn't . My friend had the poached pear and goat cheese... More

The lady at the gift store next door said, "You need to eat at the Crooked Spoon. The food is delicious. That's the only word to describe it. Delicious. End of story." She was right. Crooked Spoon Cafe was a delight. After a few days of road food and two days of heavy food at the restaurant attached to our... More

We can't miss this place every time we come up North. They have great food and the menu changes frequently. We were able to get in our large group while up there for a family reunion. Everybody raved about the food and service. They didn't even bat an eye when we had to bring the kids in their pajamas. They... More

A total delight. Whitefish chowder the best I have had. Pastrami sandwich tastes with a delightful lift sauce

The menu is less eclectic than Gunflint Tavern a block away, but this is a great alternative if you want yummy comfort food with an interesting twist. Where else can you get a wild boar burger?

Every time I visit Grand Marais I make sure to dine at least once (this time twice). It is unusual to find a gourmet cafe in a little town, but this certainly is gourmet. We had wonderful whitefish with wild rice and a salad the first night and the second time for lunch we had the best french onion soup... More
