Great food, knowledgeable and friendly staff, interesting and comfortable decor - one of the restaurant highlights of our great first-time visit to the North Shore.

My 15 year old son and I stopped into this restaurant one relatively busy Friday afternoon. The person who greeted us at the door was rude and short with us, but brought us to our seats and basically threw the menus at us. Just our luck, this person also turned out to be our wait person. As we were trying... More

Came to Grand Marais to explore for a morning and had lunch at the Crooked Spoon Cafe. Both of our meals were delicious. They put a spin on old classics and really kick them up a notch. Busy cafe but the service was good. Finished off our lunch with a fresh fruit pie which was AMAZING. I'm still daydreaming about... More

Usually have a great meal here but this time, not so much. Two of the three of us didn't appreciate our entrée of coffee crusted ribs. The coffee crust just tasted burnt and the ribs were tough. Our companion thoroughly enjoyed the steak medallions. Service was friendly but a bit harried as the dining room filled. Of course, Lola's Carrot... More

We have been to Grand Marais many times over the last 35 year but this was our first stop at the Crooked Spoon. What a nice surprise. As we sat and pondered the limited choice lunch menu we watched as the meals were being delivered to the tables around us. Everything looked great which made our choice just so much... More

Title says it all. Great food served in beautiful little Grand Marais on the North Shore. Good beer and wine list as well. Carrot cake to drive for.

My wife and I just returned from spending a week along the coast of Lake Superior in northern MN. Based upon Trip Advisor's # 1 rating, we had lunch and two days later, dinner at The Crooked Spoon Cafe in Grand Marais, MN. For lunch, I had the fresh herring fish sandwich and my wife had a bowl of the... More

We just had soup and dessert, but it was delicious. Everything on the menu sounded good and there was a good beer and wine selection. Prices were a little high.

This is our second year doing a family vacation on the North Shore, and our second visit visiting this restaurant. We had 7 in our party - all with different tastes and expectations - and everyone loved what they ordered. That almost never happens. It's a small place but the food is really good, and this had a great selection... More

We have eaten here more than we now can count. Service is above and beyond. Know us by name even though we are only here a few times a year. The food is always delicious and well presented.
