The Crooked Spoon delivered once again with a wonderful Valentine's dinner. It was extremely busy, but the food was just as high quality and delicious as I have become accustomed to. We had the Octopus appetizer, steak, salmon and banana dessert. No visit to the North Shore is complete without a stop here.

I've eaten at The Crooked Spoon twice. It's pricey but worth it, with pretty much anything you choose from the menu being good. Here's what cost them a star: On our most recent trip in January we called them and asked what time they would be open until. They said 8. We got there at 7:05 - closed. I can... More

Thank you for your kind words about your restaurant experience. I'm very sorry you had the experience of coming when we were closed. After emailing with this guest I found out that they came on a Wednesday, which is the day of the week we are closed. In the winter we do cut back our hours, but we are open... More

Didn't expect to find food like this in Grand Marais. Duck Condit salad was delicious and the housemate ricotta like the best artisan cheese from Italy.

This food was very well priced for a fancier restaurant. It was $60 for my fiance and I to eat there, and we both had an appetizer, a cup of soup, and a main dish. The service was nice and the food came out fast. We went on a Sunday night and the place was nearly empty. My fiance got... More

Intimate dinner setting on a dark, blustery MN winter night. Carefully crafted menu with interesting combinations and choices throughout. A chef with talent resides here. Service wonderful. Great craft/local beers.

Our first meal out in 2015 and it was spectacular! We love to travel and eat out, we do it often... this is not empty praise. I suspect there may often be a wait to be seated in this gem, (today was cold, and a holiday) but it would be worth the wait!

The food was interesting and delicious. Great unexpected, but very tasty, combinations. I had a smaller meal and it was priced reasonably. I love the decor, the artistic hand made wooden spoons hanging on the wall were like sculptures, and the paintings were interesting and pleasing. The servers were excellent, explaining dishes well. It is small and busy, but I... More

We visited early October, which is a very busy season due to fall colors. The wait was around an hour and the restaurant was busy all night. The french onion soup was recommended by many other travelers. The soup was delicious. My husband had a braised pork shank and he swears that it is the BEST meal he has ever... More

Well...this is the second year we have attended the Crooked Spoon Café Dinner/Wine Pairing. The wines chosen by the owners and sommeliers are fantastic! The different types of foods for each course are quite interesting. If you like some foods that are a bit out of the ordinary, you're in luck! Portions are small but some are tasty. The atmosphere...
