Food on vacation

Busy on the day we were in town due to a town event. But waited at the bar and got seated fairly fast. I had the white bean chili, which had good flavor and a salad filled with chucks of pear, dried cherries a a very mild dressing that made it a great lunch. My husband had a burger that... read more

We discovered the Crooked Spoon on trip advisor and we were not disappointed. The food was amazing and the Beer on Tap was delicious too. The portions are very generous and tasty this place is a hidden Gem Tom & Tammy.

Excellent food at a moderate price (for a vacation destination). The service is excellent, staff is friendly. Everything is cooked to order so there is a substantial amount of time, but with appetizers and some wine it went quickly. We all agreed we'd like to come back here.

Walked over from the Best Western ... in the rain. Tired, hungry, not expecting much. Walked in and welcomed by a friendly enough woman. Our server was somewhat disengaged, however turned into one of the most delightful aspects of our meal. She recommended the catch of the day with personal experience with the herring caught in Superior. The fish was... More

Had dinner there, we loved it. We had reservations but when we arrived they told us it would be 10 or 15 minutes, we went upstairs to their deck and had some wine while we were waiting. When the table opened we went downstairs to the restaurant. The decor is so so, however the food was excellent. I had the... More

The Spoon is our go to place to bring company. Outstanding food in all categories. Best French Onion Soup in Minnesota. Creative specials, fresh fish, friendly servers, overall the best dining experience in Cook County.

This has become the "go to" restaurant on the North Shore. The food is creative, generous and fairly priced. They have added a second floor deck that is open in the evening.

My dad and I stopped here to eat dinner. I had the swordfish and mashed potatoes. He had the herring lightly breaded in cornmeal. Both were top notch. Portions are perfect and the waitress we had was very good. We had the blueberry pie and coffee for dessert. I would highly recommend this place.

We visited on a Saturday afternoon in July and the place was packed! Once we were served, we understood why it was so busy, the food was awesome! Their menu has interesting selections along with cafe standards. My wife is by no means an adventurous eater and she had no shortage of optons. The wait staff are sweet and never... More

Don't let the outside of this rustic restaurant fool you - inside your palate will thank you for taking a step inside and ordering anything from their unique menu! Four of us diners ordered a variety of food for sampling and not one was disappointed. Food was flavorful with unique pairings and seasonings. (We LOVED the rosemary popcorn served with... More
