had a delicious dinner here. The duck breast with risotto was excellent. The appetizer (that included herring roe) was good too. Spouse's steak special was huge...way too much and a little more than medium rare as ordered. We'd go back though. Prices were reasonable, service was good, and the place had good vibes. Hint......it fills up quickly. Get there early... More

Interesting menu and great food. Liked the atmosphere, met friends from St Paul and had a relaxed dinner. Glueten free options, good portions, and a full bar.

I loved this place and went back at least twice!. The food was delicious and filled with unique touches. They also had a surprisingly sophisticated wine list! And the views of Lake Superior added the icing on the cake. None of the food disappointed me and the service was friendly and fun!

Great food - highly recommended. Everyone loved their meal, Grandma down to the 2 year old. Quiet and homey - not a lot of kids on a Friday night but wait staff was great and they have a kids menu if you need it. Even asked if we could buy the homemade salad dressing - great restaurant!

We were told a 20 min. Wait. 40 min later we were seated. Not a big deal right. Right, until we sat for another 25 minutes before our server came over to acknowledge we we there!!!!! We got up and left!!!! Not a friendly atmosphere.

We enjoyed a great dinner in a warm (so cold out for Sept) inviting atmosphere. The lunch menu looks excellent and we may have to go back.

We ate dinner twice at the Crooked Spoon Café in early September 2014. The atmosphere is welcoming and homey, with approximately 10 (or a few more) tables. In neither instance did we have reservations, and were seated immediately as the place was about 1/2 full around 5:30 or 6:00 pm. The menu has something for everyone. I tried the diver... More

This is our favorite "go to" restaurant when in Grand Marais. The menu is short, which to me is a sign that the ingredients are fresh and the food is carefully prepared, but there's enough choices to please everyone. Appetizers are billed "for two" but can easily become an entree for one. Save room for dessert--they're all mouthwateringly delicious.

was excellent. Our waitress was very attentive. The hostess seats you, tells you the specials and informs you who will be your waitress. It's always busy, of course it's tiny so it will feel that way, but the gals that work there are quite good at keeping an eye on you. The dinner was beautiful. I had the duck, my... More
