We had lunch here last week with our 11-year old granddaughter. Great food, beautifully served. The onion soup is the best I have ever eaten--next time I will just get that and ask for some bread with it--then I will have room for dessert! I had the special which was elk burger and it was wonderful. My husband's BLT looked... More

Grand Marais is a great little town sitting on Lake Superior, it has all types of little shops and restaurants, so we decided to look some up on TripAdvisor and try them, The Crooked Spoon Cafe had a good rating so we walked until we found it. It was great, waitress was very friendly and food was excellent. We came... More

We stopped here for lunch on a rainy weekday - it was packed so we looked at the menu for a bit outside and a passerby said - 'Go in, it's fabulous!' so we tried it. We got a table about 2:30 and they close the kitchen at 3! I split the BLT with my older daughter, my younger daughter... More

Had a great girlie weekend in Grand Marais and got in to the Crooked Spoon..go early!! Food is great, very small but worth the wait. Portions are large but very flavourful and would recommend looking around to see the size before you order. Service great and atmosphere is casual. Not a casual, fine dining but if you want good food and... More

Last week my family made our annual visit to Grand Marais and Crooked Spoon Café is a "must do" whenever we are in town. I had the salmon dinner special and my husband had the ribeye dinner special. Our kids had tasty options from the kids menu as well. The salmon was fresh, wonderfully cooked and very flavorful. The ribeye... More

The owner and her husband decided on opening a restaurant several years ago and came up with the name The Crooked Spoon Cafe. The service was great and the food was even greater. The fish sandwich was a meal fit for royalty. My wife had the grilled chicken breast sandwich with basil popcorn. Almost more than you could eat. And... More

This place was packed at 2 p.m. on a Monday, generally a good sign as it is not really a prime meal hour. While the prices were city-worthy, so was the quality. Everything was fresh and real. The turkey sandwich was made from real turkey, not thin slices from a bag. The BLT was huge and awesome. The fish sandwich... More

Food was very tasty and large enough portions but overall the prices we thought were high for what we ordered.

A local recommended this place. Service was ok. My husband had the Chicken Wild Rice soup. The flavor was good, but chicken very dry. Also not much wild rice. I had the regular steak in menus, it was done right but was tough cut. Waitress had said was tender.

OMG! This burger was fantastic! Definitely worth the money. One tip, though...eat your chips first, because this thing is soooo juicy that any chips on the plate will get soggy. Excellent, excellent burger! The rest of the family loved their food too. Son #1 also loved his burger. Son #2 surprised me and ordered the lamb meatballs and raved about... More
