Lovely view outside the downtown center. Wait staff were hustling so may seem a bit brisk, however, we really enjoyed the two dishes, herring platter and grilled fish salad. Artfully presented, locally sourced veggies and berries well worth the stop.

Stopped in because of good reviews. We each had whitefish, one grilled, the other deep fried. Both were excellent. Husband said the grilled was the best fish he had ever had. Breading on the deep fried was light and fish was not greasy. The salad was also excellent, but with the salad on the same plate as the entree and... More

This place can really be hopping in season (Minnesota summer on Lake Superior's North shore). Not having to wait on most recent visit was a real treat - Labor Day evening to be exact. Food consistently delicious. The only thing I didn't prefer is that my partner was offered several options as she ordered unaware that these were "upgrades" at... More

Lovely organic food, right on the water, friendly and attentive waiter, clean and artful interior. Visited it twice during our stay.

Great food and fun atmosphere. We had the fresh white fish and it was seasoned just right on a bed of wild rice.

I have to say this restaurant serves very exquisite meals. They have fresh fish caught daily if this is your pleasure, but if not, their other entrees are also out of this world! Everything is Gourmet food you don't find everywhere else! Best place for a fine meal in Grand Marais! It's also right on the water so you have... More

The Angry Trout has taken the locally sourced ingredients/sustainability trend to a new extreme. We applaud the use of locally source ingredients and try to support them when we can. The sustainability aspect is pushed to an extreme. Extra small cotton napkins don't cover your lap, everything served on one plate so cold salad mixes with hot fish and wild... More

Many would find this a great place to eat, but for an old Pennsylvania Dutchman it's way too fancied up food. Fries were waffle cut, fish was very very thin cut & too much breaking for that cut. The coleslaw had exotic additives like craisns & the like. Service was good & the ambiance along the lake was very nice.... More

If you are coming to the North shore this restaurant is worth the drive and if you skip this place you 've missed the best of Grand Marais. They have fishing boats out all day to provide the freshest fish. It was excellent, plus I had some of the best shrimp I ever had & believe me I 'he had... More

Cannot just order beer to check out the place. They kicked us out of the table and that was it, no more waitress or service. So we thought if they don't want our money on our vacation, we will find another place, so we found a better, very friendly place down hwy 61, outdoor deck lake view and after finishing... More
