It may seem that Grand Marais is a large town, but it really just has 1400 year-round residents. There are several restaurants, but to us this is the best place in town. GFT features an eclectic, creative menu with more than ample portions in a friendly tavern atmosphere with several rooms and a roof-top bar that's open during warmer weather.... More

We always enjoy the atmosphere and there are a lot of choices on their menu. Homemade soups are very good and the quesadillas have a yummy sauce drizzled on top. Quite a large selection of beers on tap but also many other beverages. Great view of Lake Superior.

Great food and bar selection! Had the butternut squash ravioli and salad..delicious!! We had 5 at our table and everyone had a great meal and drinks for very reasonable price. Super busy so go early or expect a bit of wait but staff very good and pleasant. Good music too

The homemade soups were surprisingly unique. I had a porcini mushroom and chicken soup which was wonderful. Also featured was a simply made mayonnaise based picante sauce which was served over blue tortillas chips. What I didn't like was the smoky stale tavern smell.

Lots of beer options, interesting menu choices, not your usual bar food, right across from the harbor for a nice view.

Girls shopped and guys hiked so we were all hungry and thirsty. Large menu with local offerings such as walleye and wild rice as well as pub foods and other American favorites. Plenty of local beers on tap. Our server was friendly and efficient. Fun pub atmosphere.
