Excellent food

We go there every year with friends for the buffet. This year we went on Saturday and ordered off the menu. I had the petite waffles with candied pecans and orange marmalade syrup. My brother had the wild rice sausage and asked to marry the cook! Instead we took their photo, both named Steven... read more

Family of four, all ordered different things, and we seriously argued over whose meal was best. Incredible food matched by stunning setting. This is an absolute must do if in the Grand Marais/Upper North Shore region. Even more amazing is that the price was average to even below average for other breakfasts.

I have reviewed Naniboujou before, but we keep returning because we love it here. This was, however, our first time to have "tea" in the solarium. And it was delightful. An lovely assortment of goodies, and an endless pot of hot tea--our 12-year-old granddaughter asked for two more pots of tea! We had been out on the beach for several... More

Today I took the plunge and drove up the shore of Lake Superior and decided to stop in to Naniboujou Lodge for lunch. After reading the reviews, I noticed that "pricey" was used a fair amount of time and it's true. $41 + for lunch is indeed pricey and that is without desert. I had the hiker's special which was... The food here is incredible. The setting is incredible. The only problem is what to choose. The breakfast options all-but-require a two or three night stay. Dinner is plentiful. Wonderful, relaxed, delicious meals with many menu options.

We went for the brunch buffet…very little options. Two out of three in our group decided to order off the menu due to the little choices. Only breakfast items, no lunch. No desert options. Very expensive! Save your money, go to check out the building (there is a lobby area and the shore line area that is open to the... More

We visited this wonderful lodge twice while in Grand Marais and had breakfast each visit. Reminiscent of another era of gracious living. Every attention to excellence was given to our meal. We loved this place and so appreciated our experience!! Great menu and bought gifts for the grandchildren at their gift shop. Would love to come back and stay here!

I persuaded my boyfriend to stop here for dinner, so I could experience history and have a wonderful meal. The interior of the dining area was as I expected, bright and beautiful. The meal, however, was a big disappointment. We watched as two tables that had come in after we did, get their food. While a close eye was kept... More

A great place to stop for lunch when traveling in Northern Minnesota. A very unique lodge with interesting history. We have been here years back for dinner and stopped today for lunch. The sandwiches and soup were great. Our server, Aubry, made it even better. A very pleasant person who made us feel at home. we will stop for sure... More

The Naniboujou Lodge restaurant is in a stunning room. The first time I stepped into it, it took my breath away. The colors, the images, the patterns are a sight to behold! The restaurant is in a very large room, but the tablecloths, cloth napkins, friendly service and fireplace make it cozy. The food is delicious. I have to say,... More
