There is no excused for place to even still be around. Just because they still own the land does nto mean they need to be around. The restaurant is horrible to say the least. The day my family and I went, you would have thought it was the busiest day of the year. Dishes everywhere on empty tables and the... More

We have eaten in restaurants around the world and this is one of our favourites. The native motif painted ceiling is simply breath-taking and very unique. The room is large, yet very cozy and charming, given the colors and decor. Location is a 15 minute drive from Grand Marais. Sunday brunch was wonderful!. The coffee is one of the best... More

I have been going here for years, and though the food is good, they could add some variety to their menu once in a while. The decor is the best, but the staff behind the desk can be rude and impatient.

We stopped by the Naniboujou for dinner and dined in their great hall. Magnificent! Great food and service fit for royalty!! The dining hall is gorgeous, with art-deco painted ceiling and fixtures. Highly recommended!

Long drive. We didn't realize this was north of Grand Marais so be aware of that. I had the superior salad with salmon, maple balsamic dressing. The salad and dressing were delicious! The salmon was okay. My daughter had Mac n Cheese (just like Kraft if you like it like that). Honey dew Melon was very good as was the... More

The lodge is quaint-looking on the outside and brightly painted with Native-seeming images in the inside. The royal blue tablecloths, wood floors, and huge stone fireplace were interesting to look at and kept the place from being to subdued and "class-looking" for us. Even though it is a little upscale, everyone there was in casual clothing, so we were comfortable... More

OK, so even if you don't decide to eat here you should stop by and check out the inside of the lodge it is beautifully painted and has a massive stone fireplace. It is hard to believe that it is all original from the 1920's. I went for brunch which runs about $20 per person, but boy is it worth... More

The food was superb. Breakfast was home style with GIANT cinnamon rolls. Dinner was very nice with fresh twists on Northland classics. No alcohol though.

This is one of the best restaurants on the north shore, which even though it is sparsely populated seems to have several top flight places. The meals here were elegantly presented and well prepared and most importantly, delicious. Service was also excellent. The site is beautiful with a pleasant beach area good for walking off some of the delicious calories.... More

it is definitely worth a stop just to take a look at it! They serve a Sunday brunch and afternoon tea. On the National Register of historic places, the Lodge was originally an exclusive private sportsman's club directly on Lake Superior about 15 miles northeast of Grand Marais.
