Dining in the Great Hall is a feast for the eyes with the original brilliantly painted ceilings and walls, along with Minnesota's largest stone fireplace, but snappy décor doesn't fill a tummy. We dined there. A "must see" for the restaurant interior decor alone! It is also a hotel, bur a bit out of our price range.

Naniboujou is synonymous with quality. They have lovely rooms, a gorgeous setting, good food, pleasant and helpful staff---it's a quality place to stay from the moment you arrive until the moment you leave. The only thing they don't have is internet, which is probably not going to change any time soon (if ever). But if you're looking for a lovely... More

We think we must have stopped at Naniboujou at a time when they were low on staff; although we were seated immediately, we weren't quite sure we were actually identified for an extremely long time. Once past the wait, it sunk in that we were indeed surrounded by a truly vibrant interior, which pulls you into a sort of native... More

My wife and I went to Naniboujou Restaurant twice, once for lunch and once for dinner. This is a one-of-a-kind building with Ojibwe Indian designs painted all around from 1929. There are many unique menu items and preparation was wonderful, except my grilled salmon for dinner, which was too dry. When I told our waitress (someone that has a vested... More

You have to stop here at least once, it is an amazing lodge. Brunch felt like nothing special. But the view and the ambiance made up for it.

We went here for Sunday brunch. I have heard so many friends tell me we need to stop here when in Grand Marais. We were not disappointed! What an interesting place! We had brunch and it was a little pricey but still so glad we stopped. I would come back again next time we are in town. The brunch was... More

Since we have a cabin 3 miles from here, we frequent Naniboujou on a regular basis. This family owned lodge and restaurant have the best atmosphere, staff, food and if you are looking for authentic lodge, lodging, this is the place to stay on Lake Superior. Amazing shoreline and it borders the Brule River and is across the street from... More

Our family has been going most every summer since 1986. Our daughter has grown up at the Naniboujou and today, brings her family there, even though they live in North Carolina. It is a just the most relaxing, peaceful, retreat from the 'real world, has some the best food in the world and the staff is truly the example of... More
