Though my fish was pretty average, my husband's BBQ ribs (a Sunday night special) were outstanding on two levels: the size was incredible, and the flavor was absolutely delicious. Definitely the best ribs either of us have tasted!

Fantastic homemade soup and sandwiches! Husband had Friday night Fish Fry and sang its praises. I had the triple grilled cheese with a cup of soup - delicious and warming! Well worth the drive if you are in this neck of the woods. Great service, food and fun atmosphere.

Nice old fashioned bar/ store/ restaurant. Sat at bar and ordered drinks and food, bartender was very nice and helpful, drinks were what you would expect, beer was cold. I ordered a chicken sandwich and daughter had a burger, the food is a bit above average, comes out of kitchen hot, the buns on sandwiches are heated, nice touch. Great... More

Thank you for your feedback. Would you please send me a message stating the time of day and day of the week you were here? Between gloves, bleach buckets and bleach rags, this should NEVER happen in our kitchen and I would like to address it with whomever was working. Nothing fancy here, but the food is great. Dinners start with warm, fresh baked bread and a huge salad with home-made salad dressing. The steaks and the walleye are fantastic. Service is sassy and attentive. Plan to wait awhile on the outdoor deck during the summer -- it's that popular. Good beers, wines only so so and served in Mason... More

During my yearly trip to Grand Marais, we decided to travel up the gunflint trail and try and find a moose and also eat here based on it being ranked #1. My Grandma and I both got prime rib, which was reasonably priced. It came with a salad and potato. I was not very impressed with the prime rib- it... More

I am so sorry to hear your Prime Rib was tough. It happens sometimes but is not the norm. If we catch it in time, we turn the entire roast into sandwich meat. Please mention this when you do come back in. I do not expect you to order it again but I would love to give you a sample... More

We stopped for lunch after picking blueberries off the Gunflint Trail in August. The lunch was excellent. Two of us had burgers and they were great. I don't remember what our wives ordered but they liked it. This is a pretty informal place with good hearty food.

We come here every year on our annual Gunflint trip. The Friday Fish fry is always very busy. Not sure what the rtest of the week is like. The food is always good and the staff are friendly. The wait times have just gotten longer over the years, however, and the hostess is generally too busy to be friendly. It... More

First I would like to apologize for not being friendly! (I am pretty sure it was me) I work as fast as possible in order to get folks seated as quickly as possible and I get tunnel vision along the way. The hostess not only ‘seats" people but cleans, resets the tables, makes malts and gets drinks for the guests... More
