Great find in the middle of no where

If you ever find yourself in the northeast corner of Minnesota, just off the Gunflint Trail, maybe in the middle of winter while working or viewing the Beargrease Dog Sled Race, stop in here to eat. Small place but super nice staff. Order ONE flapjack just to see the size of it ( I finished 1/4 of... read more

Service and atmosphere is great. Fun place to eat on the Gunflint Trail. The Ribs were awesome. So was the homemade soup. The drive up the trail was beautiful we even saw a moose! Wow!!

Good American food that tastes twice as good when preceded by a day spent outside on the trails. Excellent service!

If you are visiting Grand Marais, make sure to take a trip up the Gunflint Trail--about 29 miles--to Trail Center Lodge. A rustic little place that combines a general store, cabins, and a restaurant offers great food. We went for the fish and chips and were not disappointed. Alaskan pollock dipped in a light beer batter served with fries was... More

Went to the trail center for dinner on a Friday and loved their fish and chips. The homemade tartar sauce was great and it was all at a great place. Cute and cozy woodsy atmosphere and great wait staff. We will be back again!

Been here many times and haven't been disappointed. Warm, engaging staff. Good beer selection. Great fried cheese curds. A great little spot on the Gunflint Trail.

We had dinner and breakfast here prior to a canoeing trip in the Boundary Waters. It has lots of character, a good range of craft beers and great food. The battered Alaskan whitefish and fries is well up to British fish n' chips standards. It's a popular place so in season there may be a wait for a table.

Even though our cabin is down near Lutsen, we love to make the drive to Trail Center at least once a year for a good dinner. This time was Fall Color Tour, and though the leaves seemed a little dull this year, the meal did not disappoint. The bread and salad started the meal off deliciously. Though I must say... More

We stopped in for late lunch, had a Black Bean Burger, malted milk, everything was excellent. Friendly staff (compared to the previous ones, say 20 years ago) and a quaint up-north feel.
