While I can't tell you much about the atmosphere....( we were seated on the outside overlooking the big lake), the view outside is outstanding! I had the fish and chips, and was not disappointed. Another nice thing was that though we had to wait for a table, my wife got me a mug of beer, and I went to the... More

But it is all about fish. Great little place to stop for lunch. Eat out on the back deck overlooking Lake Superior. Fresh fish is brought in everyday by a local commercial fisherman, one of only a remaining few. The fish chowder is great and don't forget to have a piece of carrot cake for desert. Wine and beer available.

The halibut and trout were awesome. We did the all you can easy and we didn't even need more than the first helping.

I don't eat fish but everyone I know does. They all love the smoked fish at the Dockside. I love the soups. There is always a huge line there so go early for lunch.

On a road trip from California and encountered the Dockside. Bought some truly wonderful Lake Trout to cook over a fire while camping at the nearby city campground. Also bought a ton (but not enough!) Smoked whitefish and Lake Trout. If you ever travel to Grand Marais, make sure you stop here.

We like to go there for lunch for their fish and fries baskets--husband and son 2 like the white fish and son 1 and I prefer the cod. Eat on the deck if the weather's fine for a view of the harbor.

Before embarking on a sail on Lake Superior, we stopped here to add sandwiches to our cooler of fruit and cheese. Upon returning to the dock, we found a beautiful spot a few miles North of Grand Marais. We pulled off unloaded our picnic and enjoyed a couple of hours on a beach. The sandwiches were fresh and tasted. The... More

Near the Angry Trout at the west end of town. Good soup and sandwiches, right on the harbor, fresh, locally caught fish. Limited seating, but there are outdoor and indoor tables. Self serve.

We visit Grand Marais at least once each year and this is the first time we tried the Dockside Fish Market. However, now that we have tried it, we will go there every year. It was excellent. The food was delicious and the location right along the lake made for a wonderful view. We had cod and French fries &... More
