Fish to Go

We purchased a variety of smoked fish to go so we could enjoy it on our travels up through Canada. The staff answered all our questions, and there were samples to enjoy. Everything was wonderful and I would say on high end price wise, but worth every penny.

As an unrepentant walleye aficionado and connoisseur, the Dockside and I became close friends years ago and we renew acquaintances at each and every opportunity. My wife and I generally make at least two pilgrimages to Grand Marais in late summer or fall. On our must recent visit, my wife opted for takeout from The Angry Trout so I could... More

Had the opportunity to pick up some smoked white fish while visiting Grand Marais. Friendly service and the fish was wonderful.

Another gem found thanks to you awesome TripAdvisor reviewers!! Counter service with only about 6 tables in the entire place. The walleye fish & chips were super good and the fries delish! The smoked trout chowder was to die for seriously! Glad they had wine by the glass even though I think it was from a box cuz I like... More

FALL IN GRAND MARAIS- many of the summer families are gone, but the tiny North Shore harbor town is perhaps at its best in Fall. We stopped for lunch here and then picked up some of its smoked fish to take back to our Lutsen lodging. Great experience ! SUMMARY: What could give visitors a better view of Grand Marais... More

Well you cannot go to the North Shore without sampling the smoked fish. The staff here was most helpful in selecting what we wanted in both fish and cheeses. Both were excellent.

Probably the best, freshest fish and chips I've had. Ever. Trout was good, herring was excellent. Cole slaw was as good as Mom's.

I had a delicious sandwich at Dockside Fish Market that will definitely bring me back in... While they offer a nice dine-in menu, they also have a wonderful case of a large variety of different fresh and smoked fish as well. The service was beyond A-one as well- so kind, accommodating and cheerful! I will definitely be back.

We shared an order of fish and chips and had an side of chicken fingers. I should have asked if the fish was fresh, because I couldn't tell. The service was fast and friendly and we liked the fries. They also make non-fried sandwiches which is the way I will go next time.

Reasonably priced fish and chips. The fish is lightly breaded in cornmeal. The fries are amazing! They have a nice little shop that includes smoked fish and crackers.
