Great sandwiches and soup

This is a fast and very good place to stop with family. You order your sandwiches and soup the way you want them. The baked goods are fresh and good. They make the best sugar cookies!

I had a tuna sandwich with broccoli soup; both very tasty. The portion size was perfect. The cost was very affordable. The ordering process is odd, you having to write what you are wanting on a small piece of paper. If you have never been there it was confusing and hard to understand. The dining environment was causal. The booth... More

Always happy with the food here. Bagels are fresh and yummy. Cashiers are friendly and quick. Great place to pick up some treats for friends and family. Good soup and sandwiches also.

I love the "write your own ticket" concept, and the prices are very reasonable. I particularly like the option to order a small meal with a half sandwich. The location is spacious and has beautiful views of the mountains. As other reviewers noted, the tables were not wiped off, but that isn't my main complaint. My French dip sandwich and... More

You pick up a check list and circle your choices for bread, cheese, meat, condiments and additions and they fix each sandwich to order. The line moves quickly. We got the combo which included a drink and a cookie, and the tab came to about six bucks per person. We loved the roast beef and pepper jack on whole grain... More

We were on our way north along I-15 and went to walk our dogs in a park in town. After the walk, we stopped by the Old Grist Mill for lunch. This attractive casual restaurant was really special. It offers many varieties of fresh breads and soups along with sandwiches, deserts and assorted other treats. I chose a bowl of... More

There is a lot to like about the Grist Mill bakery, good value, nice menu selections, tasty cookies and cinnamon rolls, just to name a few. However, the cleanliness of the place is always concerning. I first reviewed this place February, 2012, and have visited many times since, and always find the same issues; dirty tables and floors and no... More

Stopped by for lunch and had high expectations after reading many reviews. The gal that took our order was extremely competent and helpful in assisting us in navigating the lunch specials and numerous sandwich options. Food was pretty good, restaurant was a bit messy after the lunch rush-great choice if you want something quick and are tired of traditional fast... More

This food was wonderful. We walked in just before lunch started and what a line of local folks arrived shortly. The staff never seemed impatient though we had some difficulty deciding.

Come to Old Grist Mill for the sandwiches. You can build a sandwich with almost infinite choices. My standby is turkey and swiss on sourdough, with sprouts, tomato, peppers, and mayo. Everything is made to order, and the bread is fresh baked there. There are also other baked goods, including my favorite, the blackberry scone. Trust me on this.
