A Pleasant Surprise

We visit Silver City once a month, and we definitely have our favorite places to eat. But this morning we wanted to try something different. Looking like a strip mall, Adobe Springs Café was once a hotel, built in the mid 1930s. It truly is adobe and has tons of architectural character. The... read more

This was our first time eating here, and it will also be our last. We came mid-morning on a Saturday. The place was full of customers...a good sign. A server appeared at the little desk/server area in the front, made eye contact, but didn't say a word. We were finally acknowledged & shown to our seats by another employee. She... More

Nothing on the menu appealed to me. The service was so slow that we just left before ordering something we didn't want.

chicken cacciatore was well.... I spit it out sadly, and I LOVE FOOD! I have been in the restaurant service and while the service was amazing, sadly what I ate was not. So I would not order the chicken cacciatore.... BUT the Chicken Caesar was good. It is a bad sign when the waitress tries the dish and agrees with... More

We've only stopped here for breakfast when traveling through Silver City. The food is very good, the portions large (we took half our breakfast with us), and the service fast and friendly. They do offer smaller portions on several items. The only negative comment I have is that the GC gravy needs more green chile and less gravy, for my... More

Lots of choices on the menu. Reduced portions provide a good sized meal at a reduced cost. Service was very good, wait staff friendly.

FINALLY ... a restaurant in SC that actually gives you a portion that justifies the price! If you've read any of our other SC restaurant reviews, you know we've been have very little luck finding a restaurant with food we like at a price that seems reasonable -- but Adobe may be the big exception! Even with so many mixed... More

Nice adobe decor with original art on the walls. Little nooks for twosomes. American and Mexican dishes (but when it comes to southwestern cuisine it does not have the extensive or diverse menu of a Mexican restaurant like La Cocina or Jacinto's or of a New Mexican restaurant like Mi Casita's). Good food and I recommend their salads which are... More

Heard good things about this place, and it certainly lived up to its reputation. Food was delicious, and the portions were huge. The wait staff was attentive and helpful. Would return again the next time I'm in Silver City.

Breakfast was the Croissantie Cristo and the southwest breakfast. Large portions, good coffee and pleasant surroundings. The seasoning on the southwest breakfast was green chiles that added to the flavor without being overpowering with spice, The croissant had plenty of turkey and ham and we were surprised with powdered sugar on top. Would definitely eat here again.
