Or Noma for that matter. The CK is an amazing restaurant. We had the most enjoyable, delectable meal we have had in years. I was especially impressed with the course that came out in a sealed jar out of which came cherry wood smoke when it was opened. Absolutely the best duck I have ever had. An amazing beer and... More

This is an unusual restaurant to find in such a small, out-of-the-way place. It belongs in a metropolitan area with a well-heeled clientele that would have to reserve a table a week in advance to get in. It has won all sorts of awards, has a famous or soon-to-be-famous chef who uses all sorts of local, fresh ingredients, and charges... More

First, thank you for the kind words, and I will quibble with one aspect of your review - at my age I'm neither famous nor soon-to-be anything, but still I appreciate the sentiment. Your one concern was the tone of announcing the prices for our entrees. Sonia's really good at making our space welcoming to everyone since we have such... More

My husband and I wanted to celebrate our wonderful mini vacation seeing the Gila Cliff Dwellings with a very special meal. Curious Kumquat was a dream come true, it is a beautiful restaurant with the requisite lovely colors one expects to see in the Southwest with it's heritage in Mexican tradition. The food is quite a brilliant departure and is... More

Besides the food, the Cumquat has a GREAT beer selection at very reasonable prices. Perfect place for a beer outside on the patio on a sunny afternoon or evening. Don't miss out on the brownies or cookies-they are delicious!

It' worth making a trip to Silver City. I'm from San Francisco and love good food. The Curious Kumquat gave us one of the best meals ever. Beautifully and artfully presented. Definitely order the tasting menu and ask for a wine recommendation. Chef Rob is an artist with ingredients and combinations. This is a must for dedicated foodies.

It is perfect that this restaurant is in a town known for its art galleries, because each course is truly a work of art: presentation, taste, and aesthetically pleasing. Having learned basic cooking skills in Paris, France, I always dare a chef to astound me, and that was certainly the case at The Curious Kumquat.

Interesting food, whether lunch or dinner. Great, shaded outdoor seating. Pleasant service. Good wine list. My favorite place to eat in Silver City.

Last year, my girlfriend and I had the tasting dinner for the first time and were so impressed that for our last trip to Silver City we made getting dinner reservations again a top priority. It is a little difficult to describe the Curious Kumquat - and especially the tasting dinner - to people who have not been there. The... More

Holy Crap! Can I say that here? What a humbling review. We work our rears off to have this type of response to each experience and I'm so glad we did both times with you. Thank you so much. More

If you just judged from the presentation, service, and innovative cuisine, you'd think you were in a major city. That you can have this kind of a dining experience nestled in the high country of New Mexico in the middle of a funky little arts district is a huge treat!
