My favorite dessert at The Chocolate Room is the Chocolate cake, which btw is also Oprah favorite. Just sayin. My BFF loves the Chocolate Almond cake. The sorbets are meh, especially the chocolate one. As for the chocolates, nothing amazing. I recommend La Burdick in Flatiron.

I'd heard about this place from friends for years. I finally had the chance to stop by during a recent trip to New York. First of the all the decor is warm and inviting. We stopped by at about 8:30 on a Monday evening and it was almost full inside. I had a very yummy chocolate molten cake which comes... More

I mainly visit The Chocolate Room when visiting Brooklyn to pick up fantastic bean to bar chocolate from all over the world. They have a nice selection of cacao bean to bar from Central and South America as well as Africa. If your idea of chocolate is something from Belgium or Switzerland, get educated that cacao is grown only within... More

If chocolate is love, that is. After a day of sightseeing, visiting family, eating at fine restaurants, this last stop was the best. I had a very small Moroccan vanilla bean ice cream with chocolate sauce that was truly divine. I floated back to our hotel and had sweet dreams...and an urge to return for more.! If chocolate is your... More

We strolled back up to The Chocolate Room (the one on 5th ave was closed Sundays - worth noting) but the one in Carroll gardens was open till 11pm. ( We classed this as our dessert following our Alma lunch ) hubby had the Brooklyn brewery dark chocolate stout with the chocolate almond cake and I had the Youngs double... More

Have been coming here a few times a year and have never been disappointed! My faves here are their hot chocolate, which is to die for and almond cake (which is $9, but absolutely delicious). Ambience and setting is both great to bring a date for some sweets or just have coffee with friends. Go for it!

Went as a group of 3 at 9:30pm on a weekday and we still had to wait about 20 minutes. It was well worth the wait as the food was delicious and we got to try some chocolate as we waited too. Definitely get the CHOCOLATE CHIP ALMOND CAKE. It was so delicious.

Stopped in while walking one chilly fall night. Had some hot chocolate and a couple pieces of pastry. Everything was delicious. Definitely going back for some more hot chocolate the next time I'm in Brooklyn.
