I guess I had high expectations but the food (hamburger) was OK but definitely not a memorable one - on the day we went. Definitely a cool vibe. Great selection of teas - though at $5 a cup - a little on the pricey side.

My daughter and I visited the restaurant early on a stormy evening so we had plenty of room. We had excellent hot tea and then ordered roast duck with flash fried potato chips and baby turnips, and Spanish mackerel on a bed of mushrooms and white beans. The food was very good, and we enjoyed the interiors, a mix of... More

I was first attracted to the "Tea Room" by its interesting stone exterior and nice neon sign. I like the way that the place is elevated from the street. The interior is nicely designed with lots of polished old wood, very high ceilings and big windows; so there's lots of light and air. There are tables to accommodate different sized... More

We read the reviews and after we were served wondered how anyone could have said this was the best hamburger in town! It was dry underseasoned and I had to ask the waitress for a little sauce to make it go down. Forget this place unless u like to spend $24.00 for a little bowl of underportioned lamb w/polenta that... More

I always make a point to stop here when I return to New York. The atmosphere is always excellent, the service wonderful, and the food never disappoints. I have lately opted for the burger and have come to think of it as one of the best in the City.

We had a big birthday party here in December. Our group included 16 people, ranging in age from 10 to 70. Although they didn't have a kids menu, the kids all gobbled up the gourmet burger and fries (the mac and cheese was not that kid friendly). The food was great--there were a wide variety of choices (the burger was... More

We went to Williamsburg to have a look around but got there before anything was really open. Decided to stop in for a bite and luckily found this place. The name "Tea Room" was a little confusing and we had to walk up a few stairs to get in but thought why not and glad we did. They have a... More
