Bastille Day Celebration

We went to Provence en Boite for their Bastille Day celebration. The street is closed off and the restaurant has tables outside. It is very festive. There was a great band and people danced in the street. The restaurant gave out hats and t-shirts for free. It is a typical small French café/bakery... read more

One of my favorite places in Brooklyn . Cosy , friendly place , where you don't feel rushed or pushed out . Nice decor , outdoor seating. Very nice , simple bistro menu . I've been to many restaurants , but if you love beef - they have the best filet mignon and great beet salad . And croissants ...... More

loved everything. The bread, the croissants, the coffee. Everything was delicious. You feel like you're sitting in some Parisian cafe.

The pastries are good but way to exercise for their quality. The service is very bad. Very nice place, the food is great. I'd say it is a poor.

I had wanted to try this bistro for awhile as I passed it several times. The restaurant is decorated in a warm and inviting ambiance. The tables are close to each other so the restaurant is definitely "cozy". Lucky it wasn't too crowded when we were there. The counter displayed their pastries which looked delicious! We had a platter of... More

Had quiche and carrots soup for lunch. It was absolutely delicious. Fresh ingredients and wonderful flavor. Cozy atmosphere with very good service. Family friendly with babies and children. Price is also very reasonable.

The is a place one really wants to like. It's serving a typical French bistro menu, but it's not trying to pretend that it's in Paris, which is a welcome break from the pretense that has invaded Smith Street over the past few years. The endive salad was good but not great - the blue cheese very nice, the endive... More

We have been going to this restaurant for several years, and it never disappoints! First off, love the atmosphere; you truly feel like you are sitting in a French cafe. Background music, soft and unobtrusive, of course in French. Service has always been attentive. Brunch there is a favorite meal for me; large bowl of cafe au lait which reminds... More

The staff is wonderful, the food is interesting and tasty and the place is comfortable. I have eaten breakfast, lunch and dinner and have never been disappointed. Reasonable prices.

I've been visiting Provence en Boite since it opened some ten years ago. The croissants are heavenly as are the pastries. I've never had a meal there that wasn't perfect. Owners Jean-Jacques are very serious about the quality of their food and service, but are also welcoming and gracious.
